Will Grief Cause Zac & Karen To Have A Moment of Passion?
In tonight’s Episode 4 of Sistas, viewers will likely see Zach and Karen coping with the heartbreaking loss of their daughter in their own ways. According to the episode’s synopsis, Aaron will stop by Zach and Fatima’s place to check in, and there might be a serious conversation aimed at helping Zach process the shock.
Meanwhile, Karen is sure to express her anger and grief. As Lisa says in the promo, Karen will need time to accept “a new reality,” but sooner or later, she’ll have to learn how to move forward. Inevitably, at some point, Zach and Karen will need to meet to discuss arrangements for their daughter — perhaps holding a memorial or a farewell service.
During that conversation, they might share the moments they’ll never get to experience: first steps, first words, or attending important milestones together as co-parents — things that now will never happen. Not only have they lost their child, but Karen’s surviving daughter has also lost a sister.
What the narrator hopes doesn’t happen is a “history repeats itself” situation — similar to the end of Season 2, when Zach went to Karen’s salon to clear his name after being accused of stealing her credit card. Back then, Zach poured his heart out, the tension escalated, and he took the initiative to kiss Karen. That kiss ultimately led to them sleeping together — right before Aaron unexpectedly walked in.
In the current context, there’s concern that while Zach and Karen share this loss, Karen — in her extremely vulnerable state — might be the one to initiate a kiss. In her mind, the bond between them (their child) is now gone, and she may feel she’s finally hearing the words of comfort she’s longed to hear from Zach. A moment of emotion, a lingering gaze, and then they lean in toward each other — it’s entirely possible.
Zach has always been an emotional man, but since being with Fatima, he’s never cheated while they were together. Even during short breakups, he hasn’t crossed that line. If Zach were to kiss Karen now, while Fatima is pregnant, it would undoubtedly be seen as wrong. That’s why, if a kiss does happen, it’s far more likely Karen would be the one to initiate it.
The narrator stresses they do not want this to happen — but it’s undeniably the kind of storyline that would spark heated discussions among fans. Will Zach and Karen let emotions guide them as they face this loss together? And if a kiss happens — will someone be there to witness it?
