LOVE Island’s Liam Reardon has broken his silence on claims he cheated on Millie Court by having sex with a girl in a portaloo.
The couple, who won the ITV2 show in 2021, spoke out about the bizarre rumour that circulated following their initial breakup in July 2022.
It had been alleged that the Welshman had been unfaithful at Wireless Festival, an event he claims to have not even attended.
Speaking on their podcast, Liam & Millie, the blonde beauty began by saying, “People think that you cheated on me at Wireless Festival.”
Liam responded, “Yeah, yeah,” while Millie continued, “In a toilet. It was this rumour that went around on Twitter. Liam wasn’t even at Wireless, he was with me.”
Clarifying his whereabouts, Liam added, “I was in Wales, wasn’t I?”
Millie then explained how the situation had unfolded: “Yeah, but it’s over two weekends, so one weekend you were with me, and then the other weekend you went back to Wales, and um, obviously like you weren’t even there.
“Someone actually fully fledged made up this rumour, and it went viral, and then you were getting really badly trolled for cheating on me, supposedly.”
Liam echoed her frustration: “Yeah, yeah. So, we had to announce our breakup, which is weird. We announced our breakup on Instagram.
“The next day, some girl made a tweet. She said the reason Liam and Millie broke up was because he was caught having sex in a Portaloo toilet at Wireless Festival, and it had like so many retweets and likes.”
Millie added to the absurdity of the situation, saying, “And then as well, her mate was like, ‘Yes, um, I can prove this was true. I went into the toilet after them, after they came out, and her knickers were on the floor.’
“Do you know how wild that is? That someone would actually sit there and fully make up a lie and post that so it goes viral? Which ruins someone’s life.”
Liam firmly denied the rumour, reiterating, “I’ve never been to Wireless. I’ve never been there my whole life. I was in Wales, so Millie knew that, her family knew that, but then it went viral.”
Millie also touched on her decision to publicly support Liam during the ordeal, even though they had broken up.
She said: “And then I put out a statement, didn’t I, ‘Don’t believe everything you read.’
“He literally dumped me, and I still wanted to back him and make everyone realise that, because I know that you were getting trolled, and that wasn’t nice to see.
“Like, no matter what, I still loved you and still cared so much about, for you. Um, and yeah, and then to see that, I was like, people… I, you know, I don’t want people to think that of you.”
Millie and Liam confirmed they were back on in April 2023 after unexpectedly splitting the previous year.
At the time, Millie opened up and told how she had been in therapy to deal with the emotional aftermath.
The couple’s romance has been well documented, with the pair meeting on the 2021 series of Love Island.
They had a pretty smooth ride until Casa Amor hit, when the former bricklayer decided to see if he had a connection with any of the bombshells.
Although he grew close to Lillie Haynes, 23, Millie forgave him and they ended up being crowned the series winners.
Shortly after they returned to the UK, they moved into an incredible Essex mansion and appeared to be blissfully happy.
But around April 2022, the split rumours started to circulate with the pair later going their separate ways.
Yet less than a year later, the couple had happily reunited and have appeared stronger than ever.
