Tyler Perry’s Zatima | Sneak Peek: Jeremiah Wants To Kick His Addiction & Asks Zac For Help
The scene involving Zach visiting Jeremiah in the hospital is impactful, especially given the emotional weight of the situation. Zach’s decision to apologize to Jeremiah seems to stem from the conversation he had with Tony in the barber shop, though I’m not entirely sure of the timeline. Regardless, this moment stands out because Zach immediately addresses the issue of Jeremiah putting his hands on Fatima, making it clear that there are no excuses for that behavior, despite Jeremiah’s attempt to downplay the situation by claiming Fatima simply fell.
The lack of clarity surrounding the full details of what happened between Fatima and Jeremiah, particularly the severity of her fall, only adds to the complexity of the situation. While Fatima downplayed the incident, it’s clear that she was hurt badly, as evidenced by the intense scene in episode one. It’s frustrating to see people focus on Jeremiah’s personal struggles instead of the fact that he physically harmed Fatima, especially considering she is pregnant. I understand that some may be focused on her pregnancy, but that should be a reason to hold Jeremiah accountable rather than excuse his actions.
The divisive reactions to this season reflect differing perspectives: some feel Zach’s anger is excessive, while others are concerned about Fatima’s injury and the lack of proper consequences for Jeremiah. It’s perplexing that people aren’t demanding accountability from Jeremiah, particularly when they would be much more vocal if other characters like Hayden or Gary mistreated Fatima. Yet, Jeremiah seems to be getting a pass, which only makes Zach’s response more justified in my eyes.
Jeremiah’s admission that he needs help is significant, though it’s hard to say if this will mark a major turning point in his character. After all, he rejected help before, and there are still unanswered questions about his involvement with the gangsters and his potential recovery. The scene does a great job of highlighting Zach’s frustration and his desire to protect Fatima, but I wish he would have mentioned the impact Jeremiah’s actions had on the unborn child, as it could have served as a wake-up call for him.
The acting by Deval and Amir is stellar, and this scene certainly has the potential to be a highlight of the episode. However, the real question remains whether Jeremiah can truly change and break free from his destructive patterns, especially in light of the tragedies in his past. The stakes are high, and only time will reveal if he can overcome his struggles and avoid following in his mother’s tragic footsteps.
