Tyler Perry’s The Oval | Where Are Sharon & Kareem?

Get ready, The Oval fans—Sharon is finally making her return to the show! A recently released clip from early January confirms that she and Dale will be racing to stop Richard from killing Nancy in the living room. But there’s one burning question: How did Sharon get out of jail?

Let’s rewind for a moment. If you recall, Sharon was arrested in The Oval Season 4 after being accused of murdering Kareem. She struck him over the head with a baseball bat, believing he had killed Barry. However, that turned out to be a misunderstanding—Kareem and his cousin had actually disposed of a body found in his apartment, but it wasn’t Barry’s after all. Eventually, things spiraled out of control, and Kareem and his cousin were thrown into one of the White House’s underground bunkers, where they remain to this day.

So, are Kareem and his cousin still alive? It’s very likely. The last time we saw them, Max checked in on them shortly after Victoria was placed in the infirmary. That was the same day as the massive shootout in the residence. While several episodes have passed since then, only a day or so has gone by in The Oval’s timeline. This means Kareem and his cousin are still alive—at least for now.

Now, back to Sharon. She has been missing for over a season, and her sudden return raises many questions. How was she released? Did someone pull some strings for her? And why has her absence been so mysterious? Interestingly, the actress who plays Sharon has been off social media for a while, fueling speculation about whether she took a break from filming or had personal reasons for stepping away.

What we do know is that Sharon’s release is happening soon. She’ll make her way to Richard and Nancy’s house, arriving just in time for a chaotic showdown. But when she gets there, she’ll be hit with another devastating truth—Barry is dead. How will she react? At first, she may assume Kareem was responsible, not realizing he’s innocent. This misunderstanding could set off even more drama.

As for Kareem and his cousin, their fate remains uncertain. There’s a chance that Hunter might throw Eli and Victoria into the same bunker, which could make things even more intense.

One thing is for sure: The Oval loves stretching out a single day across multiple episodes. So, while Sharon’s return is coming soon, don’t expect it to happen immediately. It will likely be drawn out until just before the mid-season finale.
