Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Was This Scene REALLY Necessary?

In the latest episode of Sisters, there was a scene between Sabrina and Rich that had viewers talking—and not necessarily in a good way. The setting? A hospital. The plot? Sabrina coaching Rich through a very intimate moment… over the phone. The awkwardness is palpable, especially when you realize that Sabrina is giving her man a phone sex session to help him “get in the mood” after he struggles with, well, performance issues. And let’s just say, the scene felt a little offbeat.

It’s hard to ignore how out of place this moment felt compared to the usual dynamics in Sisters. Fans were expecting more from the show—especially after waiting for a Zack and Fatima sex scene for what feels like forever. But instead, we got a long, drawn-out phone call with Sabrina guiding Rich through his struggles. It was an odd combination of cringe-worthy and just plain strange. Sabrina’s constant use of “Daddy” made it feel more like a scene from Bruh than anything in Sisters. Seriously, by the end, it was hard to decide if Sabrina was channeling Mo’Nique or just trying too hard to make the moment work.

The real kicker? Sabrina managed to have this phone conversation while balancing a whole day of work drama. Between dealing with Maurice and Paige’s chaos, checking in on Danny, and providing moral support to Rich, one might wonder: how long is Sabrina’s lunch break? At this point, it feels like she has all the time in the world to juggle everything from phone sex sessions to emotional support.

But perhaps the most glaring question here is: why this scene? Fans were more perplexed by the time spent on this awkward phone call than they were with the much more racy moments between Nathan and Belinda in Season 3. It felt like a distraction from the bigger storylines, one that didn’t add much depth to Sabrina’s character or the plot. And the fact that she was in a public waiting area just added another layer of unease—imagine someone walking in mid-conversation!

In the end, this scene may have been an attempt to add some spice to the show, but it left fans wondering if it was necessary. Was it cringy? Definitely. But maybe it was just another way to fill up the runtime when more meaningful moments could have been explored.

What do you think? Did you find this scene as awkward as everyone else, or were you here for the strange phone drama? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
