Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Season 8 Episode 14 Review: Knock Knock
Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Season 8 Episode 14 Review: Knock Knock
This episode of Sisters was a solid 8 out of 10 for me. At first, I had my doubts. We’d already seen a lot of it through clips released earlier—two long ones featuring Robin and Agent Watt, and another with Danny and Zach. Plus, there was a sneak peek with Zach and Fatima analyzing the murder board. I wasn’t expecting much, but I’m glad to say it turned out to be one of the best episodes of Season 8.
Robin Shines as the Episode’s MVP
The episode grabbed my attention right away, starting with the sharp officer at the police station. Robin enters and talks with Penelope, and Jordan immediately notices him. From there, Jordan becomes suspicious, giving Robin an attitude. I didn’t like how Jordan was written this episode, especially the way he treated Robin, who stayed calm and professional. Robin’s cool-headedness contrasted with Jordan’s aggressive tone, which highlighted just how much better Robin is compared to Andy. I loved Robin’s line when Jordan asked him to relay a message to his sister: “Well, it’s my job to make sure you can tell her yourself.” Robin remained poised amidst all the tension, and that was truly impressive.
The Escalating Tension Between Andy and Jordan
As always, Andy didn’t back down from her usual drama, but I felt for her this time. She tried to defend her actions with Penelope, but Jordan wasn’t buying it. The frustration between them was palpable, especially when Andy claimed she kept Penelope away from Gary, and Jordan wasn’t impressed. Their bickering was intense, and it became clear that neither one of them was completely right. It was nice to see the officer step in, telling them to take it outside. Their argument really emphasized the mounting tension.
Fatima and Zach: Drama and Tension Continue
Fatima and Zach’s relationship continues to evolve but with its fair share of complications. In one of the earlier sneak peeks, they discuss whether they should have told Andy about Robin. It’s a letdown that Andy has been sidelined this season, especially since she played a significant role in earlier seasons. Her actions felt off, and it’s unclear whether she’s jealous of Robin or just suspicious of him. Regardless, I can’t help but feel that the season’s portrayal of her is a bit of a missed opportunity.
Karen’s Drama Makes a Return
Karen continues to be a character I’ve had mixed feelings about this season. She gets into an argument with Zach over the previous night’s events. While I understand her struggles, I still think she’s been too antagonistic this season. She blames Fatima for the drama at the house and hospital, but let’s not forget that Karen herself played a huge part in instigating much of the chaos. The “I’m not taking responsibility” attitude is getting old. Maybe Karen should take a note from Fatima and learn to be a little more understanding.
Danny’s Emotional Struggles
Danny’s emotional journey was another focal point of the episode, and I appreciated how it showcased the bond between her and Sabrina. Sabrina went out of her way to support Danny—bringing her breakfast, cleaning her place, and just being there for her. Their friendship continues to be one of the highlights of the show, and this episode was no different. The way Sabrina cares for Danny shows the depth of their relationship.
The Awkward Tension Between Tony and Danny
I have mixed feelings about Tony showing up at Danny’s place with a bear. While I understand he wanted to be there for her, it felt like he was pushing too hard. Danny had clearly asked for space, and Tony barging in didn’t sit well with me. That said, the bear was adorable, so I’ll let him off the hook this time.
A Gripping and Emotional Episode
This episode was compelling, with emotional growth and suspenseful moments. The developments involving Rich, Sabrina, and the hospital’s news about sickle cell disease were poignant, prompting deep reflections on tough choices—like whether a couple would stay together knowing their future child might face health challenges. The Penelope subplot, along with Robin’s defense and his confrontation with Agent Watt, is setting up for a major revelation. The dynamics between the characters are intensifying, and I’m excited to see where this goes.
Overall, it was an episode full of emotional conflict, personal growth, and suspense. I’m eager to explore more of these themes and dive deeper into the characters’ arcs.
