Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Has Karen Truly Accepted The Fact That She & Zac Are Over?
Karen’s realization about her relationship with Zach is a long-overdue moment, and I couldn’t help but appreciate the way the writers handled it. I mean, let’s be honest: it’s been clear for a while that Karen and Zach’s relationship was essentially over long before Fatima came into the picture. Karen’s admission that she and Zach were probably done before he met Fatima makes sense, especially when you look at the timeline. After all, she left him in Season 1, kicked him out, and later chose Aaron over him in front of all the girls in Season 2. In a way, she had already made her decision, so Fatima’s entrance was just the final chapter.
What I really liked, though, was the way Sabrina framed the conversation. At first, it felt like a typical “Will they or won’t they?” tease about Karen and Zach getting back together. But when Sabrina clarified that it wasn’t about Zach, it was about Karen finding love for herself, I appreciated that. Karen has come a long way in recognizing that she deserves happiness and peace, even if that means accepting that Zach is no longer part of her future. As long as they can co-parent and keep things civil, she’s good. That’s the level-headed approach that I think Karen needs right now.
However, I can’t help but wonder if Fatima’s pregnancy will stir up some drama down the line. What if Karen gets jealous seeing how Zach is taking care of Fatima while she’s pregnant? There’s the possibility that Karen might feel neglected, especially if she begins to see the care and attention that Zach is giving to Fatima — something she may have wanted herself when she was pregnant with their child. It’s an interesting dynamic that could bring some tension to the story.
And while we’re on the topic of Zach, it’s kind of amusing how he’s now a stay-at-home dad. Sure, they didn’t fully explain why, but now we see why he’s so available to trail Hayden and run errands for Fatima. It’s like they wrote him into this role as a way to balance his responsibilities to both his daughter and Fatima, while still maintaining his role in Fatima’s life. It’s funny because a few seasons ago, Zach was trying to build his empire, and now he’s running around making sure everything is in order for everyone else. It’s a wild shift.
Overall, I’m not jumping for joy over Karen’s new perspective, but I’m glad to see her finally accepting that things are what they are with Zach. She’s moving on, and that’s a good thing. I’m more curious to see how the situation with Fatima’s pregnancy unfolds and how Karen will handle it. Will she stay calm, or will the jealousy creep in? That’s what I’m looking forward to seeing.
