Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Are Karen’s Babies A Gift From God Or A Result of Her Poor Decisions?

Twitter was on fire last night, and as usual, I found myself scrolling late into the night, reading all the hot takes on Karen’s ongoing storyline. People were fired up about Miss Lisa’s refusal to let Karen grow by preventing her from acknowledging her own flaws. It’s like every time Karen has a moment of self-realization, Miss Lisa swoops in to tell her she’s not a “bad person.” And I get it – sometimes we want to protect our loved ones, but at some point, it becomes a hindrance.

Take the recent episode, for example. Karen wonders if she’s experiencing karma for how she’s treated people, and in the comments of a video, someone rightly pointed out that it’s not karma—it’s poor decision-making. And let’s face it, Karen’s decisions have been a rollercoaster. She chose to have unprotected sex with two men within a narrow window of time, and we all remember the mess that followed.

Let’s break it down: Karen and Zach hook up in the salon office, Aaron overhears, barges in, and then later that night, Aaron drunkenly shows up at Karen’s apartment. It’s almost comical how Aaron tries to make a big romantic gesture, but Karen’s emotions are all over the place after her encounter with Zach. Remember when Aaron showed up, dropped his pants, and Karen had to awkwardly send him off to bed? If there was ever a moment of cringe, that was it. But it was also the beginning of Aaron’s relentless attempts to prove he was the “better man.”

But let’s get back to Miss Lisa. One thing that stood out on Twitter was how people are calling out Miss Lisa for denying her daughter’s poor decision-making and trying to paint these babies as “gifts from God.” No, Miss Lisa, they’re not divine blessings—they’re a result of Karen’s reckless choices. It’s hard to ignore that Miss Lisa’s refusal to call out her daughter for her mistakes reflects a bigger issue: she shields Karen from the truth.

This pattern goes back to Season 1, where Miss Lisa tried to mold Zach into the man she thought Karen needed. Instead of challenging Karen’s toxic behavior, Miss Lisa focused on changing Zach. It’s like she’s been so caught up in making Zach fit the role of the “perfect man” that she hasn’t done the same for Karen. And it’s no surprise that Karen mirrors some of Miss Lisa’s controlling tendencies. Remember how she used to be all sweet and submissive with Aaron? I think that’s the side she’s learned to hide behind, but deep down, she’s used to controlling her relationships, especially when things get tough.

Let’s not forget how Miss Lisa’s parenting style differs from a lot of others. She was always more of a free spirit, but now, her blind loyalty to Karen has crossed the line. Miss Lisa doesn’t want to face the truth—her daughter is just repeating the mistakes she made in the past. It’s hard to watch someone who could be so blunt and real with others, but when it comes to Karen, she keeps pulling punches.

And don’t get me started on that whole “letter reading” debacle from Season 5. Honestly, by that point, the whole “closure” thing was a joke. The reality is, Karen and Zach are long past it, and yet Miss Lisa thinks they still need to have some heartfelt moment. It’s just not realistic. Closure should’ve come much earlier, and now it’s just a forced, awkward spectacle.

In the end, I really think Miss Lisa needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and keep that same energy she has for everyone else. Stop shielding Karen from the truth, because at this point, it’s just enabling her to keep making the same mistakes. It’s time for Karen to grow, and sometimes growth requires facing the hard truths—something Miss Lisa is reluctant to let happen.

So, what do you think? Do you agree with the way Miss Lisa is handling Karen’s mistakes, or is she doing more harm than good? Let me know in the comments!
