Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Will Calvin Admit His True Feelings To Miranda?
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Will Calvin Admit His True Feelings To Miranda?
I can’t help but feel like I’m repeating myself every week, but honestly, Calvin and Miranda need to get back together. The way Miranda burst into the condo to defuse the situation with the police was so impactful. And Calvin’s reaction — rushing to hug her once the police were gone — really showed how much he needed her in that moment. It was a tense situation, and there’s no telling how it would have turned out if she hadn’t shown up. What’s even more impressive is how Miranda, despite not knowing the full details of the issue with Calvin and Junior, was able to step in and calmly guide him on how to approach his son to improve their relationship.
It felt like the exact kind of advice Calvin gave CJ in the previous episode, talking about how the time apart from Miranda had allowed them both to grow and mature. Miranda’s growth is evident too. She even said in Season 1 of the reboot that Calvin had “leveled up” into the kind of man she had always hoped he’d be when they were married. That dynamic, that teamwork, the way they are able to work together to de-escalate tense situations and care for their children — this is the couple they should have been from the start.
The way Calvin rushed into her arms, just like Andy did for Karen last week on Sisters, showed the real emotional depth between them. It’s clear there’s still something there. As much as I think they’re going to get back together, I’m left wondering when exactly that will happen. With all the talk of weddings, I thought they had a wedding planned back in Season 10, yet here we are in Season 13. Still no wedding in sight.
When I compare the chemistry between Calvin and Miranda to his relationship with Laura, it’s clear how much more natural and compelling Calvin and Miranda’s connection is. I mean, can anyone even imagine a scene with Calvin and Laura that carries even half the emotion of what we saw between Calvin and Miranda? I don’t think so. It’s not even a dig at Laura, but her emotional scenes with Calvin always seem a bit selfish, like it’s all about her and her needs. On the other hand, Miranda’s actions are more about supporting Calvin and his family.
In my eyes, this scene cemented the idea that Calvin and Miranda are definitely going to reunite at some point. They’re just too good together. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
