Tyler Perry Has 5 New Projects Coming To Netflix In 2025
The year 2025 promises to be a monumental one for Tyler Perry as he officially brings five highly anticipated projects to Netflix, including three films and two series. According to Variety, his new lineup includes:
Three Major Films:
- Medea’s Destination Wedding – A hilarious story where Medea, Aunt Bam, Cora, and Mr. Brown head to the Bahamas for a surprise wedding. The chaos begins when Brian and his ex-wife Deborah discover that their daughter, Tiffany, is engaged to a rapper she just met on a yacht— and the wedding is happening in just two weeks!
- Straw – An emotional drama starring Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Sinbad, and Teyana Taylor. The film follows a single mother facing a series of uncontrollable hardships, pushing her into a dangerous situation where she becomes the center of suspicion.
- R&B – A modern retelling of the love story of Ruth and Boaz. Set in Tennessee, the film follows a young woman who leaves Atlanta’s music industry to care for an elderly widow. Along the way, she not only finds love but also gains the mother figure she always longed for. The film features an impressive cast, including Felicia Rashad, Tyler Lepley, Jermaine Dupri, and Babyface.
Two New Series:
- She the People – A comedy series centered on Antoinette Durkenson, who has just won the position of Lieutenant Governor and must navigate the challenges of a sexist political environment. At the same time, she struggles to manage her family as they are thrust into the public eye. Starring Terry J. Vaughn, this show promises to bring a refreshing new perspective to Tyler Perry’s sitcom repertoire.
- Beauty and Black (Part 2) – Returning on March 6, 2025, this series continues its deep and emotional journey from the first season, keeping fans eagerly awaiting its next chapter.
