The most iconic Love Island bombshells of all time, as Toni Laites makes season 12 debut
Season 12 of Love Island kicked off tonight (Monday 9th June), with the starting line-up making their way into the villa
In a new twist, the girls were made to pick the boy they wanted to couple up with just from their dating profiles alone.
Once the girls had chosen their matches, in walked the boys and the fun really began, with the couples getting to know one another.
But nothing stays sweet for long on Love Island, as the first bombshell later entered to shake things up. Introducing Toni Laites, a 24-year-old pool cabana server from Connecticut.
“Good evening UK! Surprise!” Toni declared upon her entrance, causing quite the stir amongst the boys and some concern from the girlies, who soon learned that one of their boys would be stolen right there and then!
Toni’s entrance got us thinking about some of the greatest bombshells who have graced our screens.
From Ekin-Su to Maura Higgins and Molly-Mae, here’s some late arrivals who we can’t stop thinking about.Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu – Season 8
ITV
Ekin-Su entered the villa with full main character energy. From her back and forths with Davide, to her iconic crawl on the balcony (which many have since adopted), Ekin really put the bomb in bombshell. It’s no wonder they had to get her back for the second season of All Stars.
Molly-Mae Hague
ITV2
When I was thinking of bombshells, I actually forgot that Molly-Mae was a bombshell because she literally always seemed like an OG to me. But she wasn’t. Molly arrived on day four, and invited Tommy Fury for a date in the hot tub. Her arrival caused major tension between Tommy and his partner at the time, Lucie Donlan, and eventually Tommy recoupled with Molly. And the rest is history…
ITV
Adam Collard – Season 8
Adam Collard was such a good bombshell, he did it twice – first in season four when he stole Kendall Rae Knight from Niall, and then again as the first ever contestant to return to the UK series in season eight. His 2022 comeback had us all shocked, but best believe he lived up to his player ways (although with a little bit more finesse).
Maura Higgins – Season 5
ITV
Maura Higgins entered the villa on smoke and made a beeline for Tommy Fury, who was coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague at the time.
Maura had no issues stepping on anyone’s toes and she went after what she wanted. She quickly moved on from Tommy and her and Molly were on good terms after that.
Throughout the season, Maura had us dying with laughter with her Irish charm, OTT flirting and zero filter.
We can’t look at a picture of her anymore without hearing the phrase “fanny flutters” LOL.
And, who can forget that iconic moment when she told Tom Walker off after overhearing him say to the boys: “I just want to see if she’s all mouth” ahead of their trip to the Hideaway. She sorted him right out, and cancelled their night together, telling him to go “F” himself instead. Oh Maura, the queen that you are.
ITV
Ovie Soko – Season 5
When it comes to male Love Island bombshells, Ovie just tops the list for me. Ovie joined the show as one of the Casa Amor boys and was brought back to the main villa by Anna Vakili. Things didn’t work between Ovie and Anna, but he remained a fave in the villa for his chilled personality and loveable character. “Message” became his catchphrase and he gained a lot of popularity on the show despite not winning. His friendship with Amber Gill was also a highlight of the season.
Jess Shears – Season 3
ITV
I remember it like it was yesterday, the moment Jess Shears came into the villa after all the Islanders forom season three were coupled up. She strutted in in a wet-look thong swimsuit and the guys couldn’t contain their excitement, as one of them whistled.
“Wow, now that’s an outfit,” the show’s late host Caroline Flack exclaimed.
Jess stole Dom Lever from Montanna Brown 24 hours later, and they’re now married with two kids.
Megan Barton-Hanson – Season 4
ITV
Another Love Island bombshell who’ll go down in history is Megan Barton-Hanson. Megan caused a lot of drama by moving between guys. She was with Eyal Booker, but made a move on Wes Nelson despite him being coupled up with Laura Anderson. She was that girl all season and had us rotfl when she got Rosie to do a sexy photoshoot following her breakup with Adam Collard.
Georgia Steel – Season 4
ITV
Georgia Steel came in the villa as a bombshell on day 13 alongside Rosie Williams and quickly formed a relationship with Josh Denzel. Things went left between them when he returned from Casa Amor with Kaz Crossley and her iconic line: ‘I’m loyal, babe,’ became one of the most memorable catchphrases to come out of the show.
Rebecca Gormley – Season 6
ITV
Rebecca’s Love Island entrance was one for the books. She arrived during the heart race challenge, dressed as a sexy, Greek goddess, and performed for the boys as the girls watched on from the balcony. She even raised Callum Jones and Connor Durman’s hearts the most, which didn’t go down well with their girls.
Uma Jammeh – Season 11
ITV
Uma made a dramatic entrance during season 11, joining the villa while the Islanders were in the middle of a blind folded kissing challenge.
Uma had to kiss all the boys, and then choose the one boy she wanted to couple up with. She chose Ayo Odukoya, which kicked off the start of his rocky romance with Mimii Ngulube.
Mimii later won the show with Josh Oyinsan and her and Uma are total besties now. But, we couldn’t make this list without shouting out Uma, who stayed true to herself throughout the season and was the ultimate girl’s girl.
Alex Bowen – Season 2
ITV
Alex Bowen had all the heads turning when he entered the villa back in 2016. He wasted no time making an impact and coupled up with Zara Holland. They had a wild night in the Hideaway, which led to Zara losing her Miss Great Britain title. She later left the villa and Alex got close to Olivia Buckland. They’re now married and are expecting their second child.
