Tyler Perry's Zatima & Sistas

MALACHI HAS A FATIMA TATTOO & IT’S WEIRD!

MALACHI HAS A FATIMA TATTOO & IT’S WEIRD!

I’m expecting much more from the season finale and the penultimate episode because episode 18 very much felt like filler. What’s good, y’all? It’s ER coming to you right here on Eran TV with another Des tea video. In this one, we’re talking about season 3, episode 18, and we’re going to get into it because, yeah… Tyler, please.

Y’all, I’m just going to skip around and go to that goofy bicep tattoo Malachi has. What the hell is that about? Is this literally the manifestation of what we’ve been talking about with Tyler? I try to give Tyler an inch, but then he wants to take a whole damn six or seven miles.

Cool—tell the story of unrequited love. Tell the story of the man who didn’t know what he had, lost it, and tried to get it back. Add a twist where someone else realizes it wasn’t meant to be, or maybe there’s a reunion, some resolution, and some closure. But what is this goofy clip art tattoo of Fatima’s face on this man’s bicep? Wait, it’s not even on his bicep—it’s worse. It’s on his left pec!

This clip art version of Fatima’s face is on this man’s chest, and you want me to believe he’s been married to Leslie for 10, 15, or 20 years while still pining for Fatima? Leslie, did you marry this man with Fatima’s face tattooed on him? If so, you knew exactly what you were getting into. I’m not trying to blame the victim here because Malachi clearly has issues with letting go, especially since he and Fatima haven’t communicated in years. But Leslie, girl, did you marry him like this? If you did, then you’re giving stupid.

The moment Malachi ripped his shirt off, I considered him completely unserious. I checked out of this storyline. Could the unrequited love angle work? Absolutely. Especially since Fatima has been through hell and back in her current relationship. If Malachi came back with some sense—ready, willing, and able to be what he wasn’t before—it could have been a great arc. Not to say Fatima should immediately run to him, but at least he could have provided some competition, something that made her rethink settling for Zack.

But no. Tyler sends this goofy Malachi back with his goofy wife and an even goofier tattoo. How are we supposed to take this seriously? Of course, Fatima is going to cling harder to Zack because her past relationships have been trash. Now she’s at the top of the trash heap and forgetting it’s still trash. Tyler is not helping Fatima by presenting ridiculous characters like Malachi.

The absurdity of the tattoo reveal completely overshadowed what could have been a deep and meaningful story. Up until that point, I was drawn in by Fatima’s discomfort around Malachi. It made me wonder if she still had unresolved feelings for him. Her running away—unlike her usual head-on approach to conflicts—hinted at something deeper. But that intrigue gets derailed because of this tattoo nonsense.

Jumping back to the beginning of the episode, we get a nice little morning scene with Zack and Fatima. They’re talking, but honestly, I’m distracted by how Fatima is always in full glam in bed. It’s something that’s been sitting in my mind, but I don’t know if the audience is ready for that conversation.

Later, Zack and Bryce reconcile, which is long overdue. But at this point, I don’t care because Bryce is an inconsistent and selfish character. His actions have been inappropriate, unsafe, and downright trifling. The fact that Zack and Bryce finally decide to work together doesn’t change my opinion—I just want Bryce off the show.

The episode’s overall messiness is frustrating. From the absurd funeral home subplot to Malachi’s ridiculous tattoo, nothing feels grounded or serious. Tyler, please, do better. Fatima and Zack deserve more. We, the audience, deserve more.
