Love Island star reveals she’s split from father of her baby as she opens up about co-parenting
The ITV2 reality show alum, 34, welcomed her little girl in April 2024, before revealing her name as Rae Viola Finni-Lopes.
Now nurse Rachel Finni, who endured a tricky pregnancy with her newborn, has opened up on her shock change in personal situation.
Previously, the Love Island alum chose to keep the identity of her child’s dad out of the public eye, but sung his praises in her caption while revealing she had had a tough labour.
Now she has told of their successful – yet tough – co-parenting arrangement in a candid question and answer session on her Instagram page.
One follower asked her: “Any tips for easy co parenting?”
Rachel candidly replied: “Can’t give you tips I’m afraid. No one in this world can.
“I just thank God every day and never for a second take for granted how amazing Rae’s dada and family are.
“I’ve never seen co parents like us and we are always complimented for how we are as parents.”
In her lengthy post, she added: “I really think from experience of what I’ve seen growing up, successful co parenting depends on how the parents are as people.
“Sorry if this was an unhelpful answer.”
In a later post, Rachel told how, if she was given the chance, she would re-live “those early hours in the morning just after you’ve given birth and you’re getting to know this new beautiful tiny human.”
BABY JOY
Back in April 2024, she shared a first pic of her newborn daughter on her social media and revealed her gorgeous name.
Rachel also shared a picture of her tummy after giving birth and wrote: “Empty belly but full heart.”
In another image, posted on her stories, Rachel had her daughter resting on her chest, while giving fans a glimpse of the baby’s dad holding her face.
“Wish I could say I was in a baby bubble – more so a pain web!!” she confessed.
“I’m in extreme agony but just wanted to let you all know she’s here and perfect.”
Rachel continued: “I am obsessed with this little girl down to the little hairs on her ears and tiny nails on her toes. She also has the best dad in the world and I have the best family and friends.”
ROUGH RIDE
Rachel, who appeared on Love Island’s 2021 series, has been very candid about her rollercoaster pregnancy.
She officially announced online she was expecting her first baby in January 2024 – and was already far along in the pregnancy.
Rachel made the announcement by posting a video of her baby bump alongside the music What A Wonderful World.
And while she was excited to meet her baby girl, she did suffer with hypersalivation during her pregnancy, which left her constantly drooling.
She also couldn’t stomach the smell of apples and had to cope with hair loss and near-constant nausea.
During her time on Love Island, Rachel also had a difficult time.
She coupled up with Brad McClelland but the pair failed to find a spark.
After coupling up with Teddy Soares, he ditched her for Faye Winter.
She was also caught up in a bullying row after the show when her former co-stars Brad, Aaron Francis, Tyler Cruickshank and Jake Cornish slated her online.
