Love Island legend reveals she and her daughter nearly died in horror accident after car BLOWS UP on motorway
Malin, 32, was driving along the motorway with two-year-old Xaya when she says her vehicle “started smoking out of nowhere”.
Minutes after pulling over and running to safety with her little girl, Malin says the car burst into flames and exploded.
The star has shared the details of her traumatic incident with fans, before saying she is ‘taking a break’ from social media.
Writing on Instagram, Malin said: “This morning I was driving with Xaya and my car started smoking out of nowhere.
“I took me Xaya out and ran down the side of the dual carriageway in time and it blew up and caught fire minutes later.”
Malin then tagged a friend into her post and told her followers that her pal will be dealing with her emails in the coming days.
“In shock, staying off here and @erintidey will answer emails or anything needed work wise,” Malin added.
“Me and Xaya are safe and sound.”
Malin shot to fame after appearing on the 2016 series of Love Island.
But the mum, who now works as a wellness coach, hasn’t had the easiest time since then.
A year after she left the villa, Malin’s beloved mother Consy-Gloria passed away from cancer.
In December 2018, she gave birth to her first child, a little girl who she called Consy after her mum.
Tragically, Consy was born seven weeks early and died from a heart defect when she was just one month old.
Along with having to deal with her severe grief, Malin also revealed that her ex partner – Consy’s father – had been physically abusive to her.
The star said Tom Kemp subjected her to a two-year campaign of violence and emotional torture. He was later jailed for an assault that left Malin requiring hospital treatment for a broken hand.
In January 2022, Malin welcomed her second child – daughter Xaya – with her boyfriend Jarad.
However, four weeks later she and Jarad split and she found herself turning to drink and drugs to cope with her new life as a single mum.
Earlier this year, Malin opened up to The Sun’s Fabulous about her struggles and how she managed to overcome them.
“I had no idea how hard it would be bringing [Xaya] up with someone who no longer lived under the same roof,” she said.
“Even when I was with my daughter, I was angry at my ex for putting me in this situation, and full of grief that we weren’t the perfect family I’d always dreamed of.
“And when Xaya was with Jared, I felt even worse. I was so lost and lonely I didn’t know what to do with myself.
“For months, whenever she was with him, I sought solace in alcohol and drugs.”
Malin added: “Today I barely recognise that bewildered, out-of-control girl. After a lot of hard work and many ups and downs, Jared and I co-parent Xaya, now two, really well.”
Malin has now retrained as a wellness coach and she has been busy developing a co-parenting app in her spare time.
She also turns to yoga, reading or watching a film if she finds herself in a dark moment.
Meanwhile, Malin hinted last month that she has broken up with her life coach boyfriend two months after they went public.
