Love Island fans can’t believe casts ‘real age’ as they are left ‘cringing’ at launch
The hit reality-dating show made a triumphant comeback to ITV2 this evening.
Shakira, Meg, Alima, Sophie, Megan and Helena were the six girls who were introduced at the start of the episode.
But as soon as the girls were introduced, along with their ages, fans began to air their thoughts.
Shakira is 22, Alima is 23, Megan is 25, Meg is 24, Sophie is 29, and Helena is 29.
Reacting to the casts ages, fans on X went wild.
Reacting to Helena’s age, one person penned: “29 on love island? You’re supposed to be on Love Is Blind”
Another agreed: “29, single your whole life and on love island?”
“Ngl having no relationships at the big age of 29 is a red flag sorrrrrry,” said a third.
‘THEY DON’T LOOK THEIR AGE’
Meanwhile, many people thought that the girls didn’t look their ages.
“These girls dont look their age,” said one.
“Helena looks older,” said a second.
A third penned: “These girls all look way older than they are.”
This comes after Maya Jama, the returning host of this year’s series, revealed a big show twist.
“This year things are slightly different,” she told the six girls after they had entered the villa.
“You’ve told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality?” she asked.
BIG SHOW TWIST
As the nervous girls lined up, Maya explained: “Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts.
“Each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts – shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?”
On the boards the girls see descriptions for this year’s boys: Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu and Tommy.
And then the huge twist was unveiled.
Maya told the girls that they had to decide who they’d like to couple up with based on the key stats.
