Love Island fans struggled to hide their shock as they watched the brutal moment that Matilda Draper stuck up her middle finger at Ronnie Vint during the live final on Monday night.

The final four couples battled it out for the coveted crown on Monday night, with Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan eventually being crowned champions.

Matilda and her boyfriend Sean Stone finished in third place, and during their interview with host Maya Jama, the pair were asked whether they would be enjoying any double dates with Ronnie and his girlfriend Harriett Blackmore.

She hit back: ‘Well, I don’t know if I want to’ before flipping up her middle finger at Ronnie.

Sean added: ‘Change of plan, I think.’

During their interview with host Maya Jama, Matilda and Sean were asked whether they would be enjoying any double dates with Ronnie and his girlfriend Harriett Blackmore

Luckily, Ronnie and Harriett erupted into laughter, while host Maya moved onto another question.

The display left many viewers stunned with posts on social media site X including: ‘This is the second time matilda has flipped off ronnie OMG.’

‘Feel like Matilda and Ronnie are just siblings at heart; Absolutely sick of seeing Matilda flicking the bird. So aggressive.’

It was the second time that Matilda had delivered the lewd gesture, after she subtly lifted her middle finger to Ronnie during Love Island’s penultimate episode on Sunday.

Ronnie had been asked to choose a couple that he wished to dump from the island, and he voted for Sean and Matilda, admitting he had doubts over whether their relationship will work in the outside world.

He said: ‘Obviously, knowing Matilda on the outside, I don’t think you’d pop it off at all. I feel like this connection in here is just in here.

‘The obsession with another couple in here, I feel like you took your eye off the real reason you’re in here. The couple I am going to send home is Sean and Matilda.’

While Ronnie did give his reasons for the vote, eagle-eyed viewers noticed Matilda subtly sticking up her middle finger at him.

Viewers took to a various social media platforms, including X, to share their reactions, with one writing: ‘Lmaoo not Matilda giving Ronnie the finger #loveisland.’

Posts on Reddit also included: ‘The way the tried to cut out Matilda giving the finger to Ronnie bc he went on about how he knew what she’s like is killing me lmaooo. Presumably they also cut out everyone’s reaction.’

‘Did anyone else catch matilda flipping ronnie off after his vote if u look at the bottom of the frame aft matilda says shes not happy w the vote you’ll see it.’

Love Island fans were left fuming when ‘technical issues’ left them unable to vote in Monday’s much-anticipated final.

Taking to X, viewers complained the show’s offical app was not working to cast their vote, while others bemoaned the app was not even available in their country.

Writing: ‘@Loveisland unable to vote through app???’: ‘Who knows how to vote on the app if it’s not available in your country? I see loads of people wanting to vote of #jomii but they can’t’: ‘so sorry guys… I tried voting but couldn’t coz Love Island app isn’t in my region’.

‘Mimii and Josh, the app to vote is not working’:  ‘@ITVXhelp app is not working! Cannot watch Love Island final, always a problem with this app’.

Mimii and Josh were in the final with Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, Matilda Draper and Sean Stone and Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya.

Jessica and Ayo finished in fourth place while Matilda and Sean were awarded third position in the reality show competition.
