Love Is Blind Season 8 Proves The Show Needs To Be Canceled (The Premise Has Run Its Course After Eight Seasons)

Các diễn viên của Love Is Blind mùa 8 buồn vì biển báo bị hủy

Love Is Blind season 8 dropped an explosive first six pod episodes on Valentine’s Day, and it’s become abundantly clear the show should be canceled. The fifth anniversary season of the show takes place in Minneapolis, with Midwestern accents galore and “Minnesota Nice” attitudes throughout the pod episodes. Two contestants who got engaged, Virginia Miller and Devin Buckley, even went to the same high school in South Minneapolis. As Love Is Blind season 8 unfolds, it’s become clear that not even the comforting familial bonds of Minnesotans can save this show.

The Love Is Blind season 8 cast may be sweet and Midwestern, but that doesn’t make them any less messy. There were multiple love triangles revealed in the first six episodes, with former Timberwolves Dancer Molly Rose Mullaney getting ditched by Botox-loving Dave Battenburg in favor of former social studies teacher Lauren O’Brien. Meg Fink and Madison Errichiello ditched Mason Horacek when he waffled between them, with Alex Brown ultimately rejecting Madison at the last moment. Given the intense drama on the show, it seems Love Is Blind has lost its way.

Daniel Allegedly Knew Taylor Before Love Is Blind Season 8

He May Have Followed Her On Instagram

A post shared by Daniel Hastings™ (@danielhastings_)

Taylor Haag and Daniel Hastings were one of the cutest couples in the Love Is Blind season 8 premiere, hitting it off almost immediately due to their shared love of Christmas, fast food restaurants, faith, and sense of humor. However, everything took a turn after Taylor and Daniel met in their reveal. Daniel made it clear early on that he was a “short king,” which can be a dealbreaker for some women. While that easily could have been the drama, Taylor assured the cameras that Daniel was her exact type, even if he was slightly shorter than she was used to.

Taylor couldn’t shake the idea that she’d seen Daniel before and slowly realized Daniel had followed her on Instagram before filming began. Taylor felt shocked and blindsided at the reveal, and episode 6 left the pair on a cliffhanger. It’s unclear if Taylor’s gut feeling about Daniel is correct, but if Daniel is the guy Taylor was thinking of, their engagement might be over. It’s a shame because they were so adorable in the pods.

Love Is Blind producers should realize that Minneapolis is a relatively small and insular community. While it’s a city of over 300,000 residents, many people who grow up in the Twin Cities go to college in Minnesota and settle down back in the suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Therefore, many social circles from high school expand after everyone goes to the same colleges. They needed to do a better job of making sure cast members didn’t know each other, as this was already a problem with Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Uche Okoroha.

Ben Mezzenga Is Getting Roasted Online

He’s Being Talked About On TikTok

TikTok user @hopeyoufindyourdad has posted various videos about the Love Is Blind Minneapolis cast, and while she hasn’t revealed who she’s talking about, commentators and sleuths on her posts have realized that she’s talking about Ben Mezzenga, the 28-year-old software developer who got engaged to oncology nurse Sara Carton in the pods. Sara and Ben had some potentially differing political and religious beliefs, with Ben giving non-answers evocative of mediocre men to Sara in the pods.

Ben and Sara seem like a cute couple, but TikTok videos surfacing online suggest he may not be the guy he portrays on reality TV.

The TikToker accused Ben of mistreating women he’s dated in the past, and while she didn’t directly name him, people in the comments quickly put it together. “I’m in mankato, and EVEN I HAVE HEARD ABOUT HIM from girls here at msu,” wrote one user, speaking about Ben, while another said, “The way I knew immediately who this is about.” Gossip seems to spread quickly in Minnesota.

Ben expressed that his Christian faith was important to him, and Sara viewed that as a potential red flag as her sister is gay. While he assured her that his faith was his own and he had no problem with Sara’s sister being gay, his answer regarding Black Lives Matter was much more wishy-washy. He used the excuse that he was ignorant and didn’t know much about it.

Ben sounded like a conservative man who didn’t want to get caught for his beliefs on reality TV. Progressives can be especially loud about their worldview, but he can’t keep that from Sara if he plans on marrying her. Love Is Blind producers should have been more thorough with their vetting process regarding past relationships.

Madison Is Stirring The Pot In Previews

Meg And Mason Might Be Together

Madison connected with Mason and Alex in the pods, but it became clear that she and Alex had a deeper relationship. However, Mason also dated Meg, and he seemed to have a difficult time deciding between Meg and Madison. Madison could feel his indecisiveness, but she didn’t break things off with him before revealing to Meg that Mason had called her his “number one.” He only seemed to go back to Meg after he realized Madison was breaking up with him.

In previews, it seems that Madison is trying to stir the pot after Mason and Meg enter the bar, potentially reconnected after leaving the pods. Madison accuses someone of being a “liar,” elevating the emotions of the situation. Love Is Blind producers are just trying to fan the flames rather than focus on the true goal of the experiment. The emphasis on pod squad members who don’t even get engaged encourages future singles to get messy rather than get serious.

Does Love Is Blind Need To Change Its Format?

It’s Time For The Show To Shift

After five years, eight U.S. seasons, and various international iterations, it’s time for Love Is Blind to change its format. First, there are too many spoilers leading into each season. Non-disclosure agreements and social media regulations could be tightened with cast members. Additionally, criminal background checks aren’t enough. Cast members should disclose their past dating history, and exes need to be reached out to. There’s going to be drama no matter what, but cast members’ safety and well-being are at stake. When internet sleuths are better than Love Is Blind producers, it’s time for a change.
