Love Is Blind season 8’s reunion is right around the corner, and who’s most likely to be engaged after their time in the pods? The Love Is Blind season 8 cast that producers chose to follow was perplexing, especially considering other stars, like basketball star Brittany Dodson and medical student Kyle Scheulke, had their engagements edited out entirely. Meanwhile, Lauren O’Brien’s ex-drama caused Dave Bettenburg to break things off before heading down the aisle, and Sara Carton and Ben Mezzenga seem fundamentally unsuited to each other.

Netflix producers often edit out storylines on Love Is Blind, especially when more than five couples choose to get engaged in the pods. While they claim to follow the couples they think will be the most successful, it’s obvious they choose couples that could be a complete trainwreck. For example, Chelsea Blackwell and Jimmy Presnell were bound to be a mess after the Megan Fox comment, and Irina Solomonova and Zack Goytowski hated each other post-reveal. Amid rumors there could be an engaged couple at the Love Is Blind reunion, it’s time to rank the top options.

Lauren O’Brien & Dave Bettenburg

It’s not out of the question for Lauren and Dave to show up engaged to the Love Is Blind season 8 reunion. Dave was a red flag from the start, starting his conversations with women in the pods by saying, “So, what’s wrong with you?” As if that wasn’t charming enough, he also accused women over 30 of “no longer [being] attractive” and asserted his expectations of women to look a certain way because he was used to working with Botox and fillers as a medical device salesman.

He couldn’t decide between Lauren and former Timberwolves Dancer Molly Rose Mullaney in the pods, but Dave had some outdated ideas regarding what each of them would be like. As a professional dancer, Dave assumed Molly was wild and sexual, not marriage material. Meanwhile, Lauren was a schoolteacher, which he associated with nurturing, caring, and motherly qualities. While Lauren certainly embodies those traits, she’s so much more than the virtuous, virginal, and outdated stereotype of a teacher.

Lauren’s image was shattered in Dave’s eyes when he discovered that she had a friend with benefits shortly before appearing on Love Is Blind. Accusing her of not being ready for marriage, he wouldn’t allow Lauren to defend herself to his friends or sister, who was an omnipresent force on the show, though she was never seen. After breaking Lauren’s heart, he drunkenly asks for her back at the cast party.

While Lauren didn’t fold, it’s possible they started dating again after the cameras stopped rolling and are now engaged. It’s less likely than other options, but Lauren saw something in Dave and gave him too many chances. Maybe he finally apologized and chose to grow up.

Mason Horacek & Meg Fink

Mason Horacek and Meg Fink are proof people who believe in aliens simply have to be together. They hit it off in the pods due to their conspiratorial thinking and shared love of the movie Her, leading Mason to believe Meg was an AI bot made just for him. Unfortunately for Meg, Mason also had a connection with Madison Errichiello in the pods, who tended to turn Mason on through her overtly sexual conversation topics.

Madison essentially bullied Meg out of a relationship with Mason because Madison was choosing Alex Brown over him, offering Mason the choice of Meg by default. However, it was clear there were still feelings between the pair, and it wasn’t a huge surprise when Mason and Meg showed up to the cast gathering together.

Meg wanted to play it cool with Mason, but when she got her phone back, found him on Instagram and messaged him. While they didn’t expressly say they were dating at the cast meetup, with Mason simply saying they were “hanging out,” Meg and Mason seem like a match made in alien heaven. There’s a decent chance they’ve gotten engaged since the show. It’s a shame that fans were robbed of a season filled with Meg and Mason, as they had way more personality than most of the other couples that went through the entire process.

Kylie Schuelke & Brian Sumption

Kylie and Brian Sumption allegedly got engaged in the pods, according to Netflix, and they’re the most likely engaged couple at the Love Is Blind season 8 reunion. Much to the shock of fans in the comments, Kylie posted a photo of her and Brian dressed up in the snow together. “They could have given us THIS but we got 75 hours of couples who didn’t get engaged?! ” wrote one fan, while another said, “Very confused on why your story wasn’t showed but we saw so much of 4 people who none got engaged.“

According to the Netflix article, Brian, the owner of Troubadour Wine Bar in uptown Minneapolis, hit it off immediately in the pods with Kylie, a medical student at the University of Minnesota. While they weren’t chosen to go to Honduras together, the two found each other at the airport and purposefully missed their flights to keep hanging out. Their relationship has stayed strong since, and while details of their engagement are still under wraps, the Netflix article about the pair alludes to their continued intention to get married.

Kylie and Brian seem like the most obvious option for an engaged couple at the reunion, but there’s still a question about why Mason and Meg’s storyline was so heavily featured. They could be the bigger surprise at the reunion. If that’s not the case, their love story was likely told in detail because Madison was tapped for the upcoming cast of Perfect Match season 3. All possibilities are still in the air until the Love Is Blind reunion airs on March 9.
