ITV Love Island Leicestershire star’s family devastated by cancer tragedy
ITV Love Island’s Leicestershire star Danica Taylor has revealed the heart-wrenching loss that has left her partner’s family shattered. Despite the tragedy, she is now supporting her partner who has been inspired to take on a gruelling challenge across England.
Nathan Grant, the boyfriend of Danica, who was a contestant on ITV2’s Love Island 2022, is grappling with the devastating death of his brother. Christopher lost his battle with cancer in August 2023 at the age of just 34, leaving behind his three-year-old daughter.
Nathan said the loss of his brother had “shattered” his family and left his parents grief-stricken while his neice was also now fatherless. He said: “Cancer shattered my family, leaving a beautiful three-year-old girl without her father. Witnessing my parents lose their eldest child was a pain I can hardly put into words. In the face of this tragedy”
Nathan has since vowed to honour his brother’s memory by pushing his own boundaries and dedicating himself to selfless acts. He said: “I made a solemn promise to myself and to my brother’s memory. I swore to push all boundaries to honour him and live a life of selfless acts.”
The biggest commitment is one he is undertaking all this month in an extraordinary physical challenge. He will undertake the ‘England Victory Lap Challenge’, running the entire length of the country. He will cover approximately 30 miles daily which is the equivalent to a marathon.
Nathan journey, which began on Monday (October 1) in Longtown, Cumbria, concludes on Wednesday, October 23 at Land’s End in Cornwall. Leicestershire Love Island star Danica will join Nathan along the way.
She said: “Nathan in general is nothing short of extraordinary. He’s dedicated, resilient and I’m super proud of him embarking on such a huge journey.”
The challenge aims to raise crucial funds for Cancer Research UK, turning the family’s grief into a force for positive change. Those wishing to support Nathan’s run can do so through his dedicated fundraising page.
