Is Joe’s College Road Trip Coming To Netflix In 2026??

We know Madea’s Destination Wedding is set to release on Netflix sometime this year, but an exact date hasn’t been announced. Based on Netflix’s release pattern, it’s likely to drop in April or May 2024. Since Beauty in Black premieres in March, Netflix may avoid overlapping major Tyler Perry projects to maximize viewership. Given the film’s tropical wedding theme, a spring or summer release makes sense.

Many fans have also been asking about Joe’s College Road Trip, which follows Joe, Brian, and BJ on a college exploration journey. The film was shot back-to-back with Madea’s Destination Wedding in early 2024, leading to speculation that it would release soon after. However, recent reports suggest that several Tyler Perry projects are slated for Netflix in 2025, but Joe’s College Road Trip is not on that list.

This isn’t surprising, as Perry often films projects that remain unreleased for years before finally premiering. It’s common for actors to discuss working on a film years before it actually debuts. Originally, many expected Madea’s Destination Wedding in summer 2024, followed by Joe’s College Road Trip in the fall, aligning with back-to-school season. Now, it appears Joe’s College Road Trip won’t arrive until at least 2026.

There’s no rush to release everything at once, and Perry’s approach makes sense. While he initially announced Madea’s retirement, she was brought back for the Farewell Tour play, later adapted for BET+. Then came A Madea Homecoming, which was a huge hit. Now, she’s returning for another Netflix film, proving once again that Perry knows what his audience wants.
