“I’m devastated”: Love Island’s Toni’s mum breaks down in emotional video after she recouples with Harrison
We were all left in shock last night when Love Island’s Toni decided to recouple with her ex Harrison after he brought back Lauren to the main villa from Casa Amor, and she recoupled with Cach.
It was clear there was still some unresolved feelings between Toni and Harrison. And after lots of flirting and terrace visits, they finally got back together, leaving Lauren in tears and Cach clearly upset.
Toni’s mum Leslie has now shared a very emotional video on TikTok, in which she admits that she’s “devastated” by her daughter’s decision.
In the video, she says: “The gist of it is that I feel like I just watched my daughter walk out onto train tracks and there is a bullet train coming right for her and I can’t scream to her and I can’t grab her from the tracks. I thought I could hold it together. I’m really, really, disappointed and I’m sure there’s many of you that are as well.
She continues: “I felt like at one point she woke up and was like, ‘Yeah I’m done’ and I feel that him [Harrison] doing this sneaky terrace thing right before it’s time for recoupling is another really calculated move to try to keep him in the villa and of course you know his big brother Harry has to assist and that f***ing terrace is going to be the death of me, I swear to God. She is smarter than this. She has more pride than this. So, I don’t know what is in the water over there or what is happening in that villa. I’m devastated by this decision that she’s made.”
Leslie goes on to say that she feels sorry for how Cach was treated, explaining: “She [Toni] blew her chance with a really good guy who would have treated her really nicely and with respect like we’ve seen him [Cach] do throughout his time in this journey.”
She mentions that some fans have said that Harrison could change, but she doesn’t “believe it”.
“I’m all for a good comeback story, but I don’t believe it. The way he’s been moving, that’s him. Am. I wrong?” she said.
She says her daughter “deserves better” and should know this.
Leslie ends the video by saying that her husband was also “disappointed”, that she just feels “sadness” and she’d be ok with her daughter being dumped at this point in order to get away from it.
Clearly hurt by it all, she concludes: “I’m grasping at straws trying to figure out how this can turn out better than what’s coming up in my head and I’ve got nothing. So, those are my thoughts for the evening: sadness, basically, sadness. And if Toni were to come home, I’d be ok with it at this point.”
On Tuesday night’s episode (15th July), Toni decided to recouple with Harrison, saying in her speech: “The last few days, if not weeks, have been really up and down and confusing. But after a very unexpected conversation on the terrace this evening, I’ve gotten the clarity and the answers I’ve been looking for.”
