I’m Convinced Madison Will Be The Love Is Blind Season 8 Villain (She’s Already Showing Signs In The First Few Episodes)

Love Is Blind season 8 is off to a messy start, but I’m convinced Madison Errichiello, who didn’t even get engaged in the pods, will be the season’s villain. The fifth anniversary season, which takes place in Minneapolis, dropped six full pod episodes to jumpstart the installment, with the honeymoon and hometown episodes saved for the next release. One of the cast members, Madison, was heavily featured despite not getting engaged in the pods. None of the singles in her storyline left the pods engaged, leading to speculation regarding her role in the Minneapolis episodes.

The Love Is Blind season 8 cast produced five engaged couples: Dave Bettenburg & Lauren O’Brien, Virginia Miller & Devin Buckley, Monica Danus & Joey Laveille, Ben Mezzenga & Sara Carton, and Taylor Haag & Daniel Hastings. However, Taylor and Daniel’s romance could be short-lived after Taylor couldn’t shake the feeling that Daniel already knew who she was before entering the pods, effectively blindsiding her. Despite not being part of a Love Is Blind season 8 engagement, Madison will add to the drama as a villain. Here’s why.

Madison Was Nasty About Mason After Their Breakup

She Tried To Twist The Narrative

Madison connected with two men in the pods: 32-year-old cinematographer Mason Horacek and 29-year-old commercial real estate broker Alex Brown. While Madison was Alex’s only connection, Mason was juggling two women: Madison and 31-year-old oncology nurse Meg Fink. When Madison got wind of Mason making conflicting statements regarding who was his favored pick, she got nasty pretty quickly.

Interestingly, Madison tried to break things off with Mason when she realized her connection with Alex was stronger. This was an unsurprising move, given the depth of their conversations. Madison and Mason typically kept things pretty flirty, with Madison teasing her sexy Halloween costumes and making sexually explicit jokes. However, she and Mason also bonded over both being creative types. Mason resisted her breakup, however, and they kept seeing each other. When Madison had the power in the situation, she was happy. This is classic villain behavior.

Madison Ruined Meg And Mason’s Chances

She Couldn’t Let Them Be Happy

Madison completely ruined Mason’s chances with Meg. This also essentially happened with Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski when Leo asked Love Is Blind season 7 villain Hannah Jiles to put in a good word for him with Brittany after she officially broke things off with him. However, the difference was that Mason was well-meaning and genuine and also didn’t say anything he didn’t mean. Madison wanted to light a torch and set fire to his relationship with Meg, effectively turning him off from her entirely.

Madison might be the nicest person in the world, but Love Is Blind producers gave her a bad edit.

I predict that Madison’s story was so heavily featured because Mason kept flirting with her and Meg after the pods but ended up dating Meg. It’s unclear what happens in future episodes, but based on previews, it looks like Meg and Mason arrive happily together at the bar. Madison also calls Mason a “liar” in the previews, alluding to the explosive drama to come.

Madison Tried To Manipulate Alex

He Didn’t Want To Propose To Her

After Madison broke up with Mason, it became clear Madison expected Alex to propose to her, but he didn’t feel comfortable getting down on one knee due to red flags. Alex was worried he was attracted to Madison because she was similar to people he’d dated in the past, especially after she shared her avoidant attachment style. He was also uncomfortable with how she talked about Mason, preferring to remain neutral in the situation. It was understandable for Madison to want him to rush to her defense, but it wouldn’t have been genuine on his part.

Alex and Madison break up without getting engaged in the pods. However, Love Is Blind wouldn’t show their story unless it became important again later in the season. I think producers were laying the groundwork for Madison’s villainous behavior later on in the season, but the proof remains to be seen. Regardless, there’s sure to be plenty of drama to come after Love Is Blind season 8’s premiere.
