I’m A Celebrity winner Skye Wheatley responds to rumours she will be hosting Love Island – after she was tipped as the frontrunner for the gig
Skye Wheatley has broken her silence on rumours she was the frontrunner to replace Sophie Monk as host of Love Island Australia.
The former Big Brother star, 30, was reportedly considered for the role by Channel Nine but knocked out of the running after her recent plastic surgery controversy.
However, the influencer told her Instagram followers on Wednesday the claims were untrue and that any headlines suggesting otherwise were ‘click bait’.
A fan wrote to Skye during a Q&A, asking the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia winner if she was ‘supposed to be the host of Love Island’.
The blonde beauty simply responded, ‘No it was click bait!’ alongside an image of dog faeces on her driveway.
Daily Mail Australia recently revealed Skye Wheatley was slated to replace Sophie, 44, as Love Island host as she’s said to be leaving the dating show soon.
However, a source went on to say the Instagram star was knocked out of the running because of her changed appearance after multiple plastic and cosmetic surgeries.
Skye recently returned from Turkey where she underwent a fox eye lift, liposuction, a temporal lift and a blepharoplasty.

These procedures were just the latest in a series of operations the reality TV star has undergone over the last decade in her quest to achieve the ‘perfect’ appearance.
Upon her return to Queensland, Skye was left devastated when Nine contacted her to say the network no longer required her services as a host of Love Island.
‘The idea was floated that Skye could slip in and take over Love Island Australia,’ a source said, revealing Sophie wanted to focus on other Nine projects.
‘Executives believed Skye could do a very similar job to Sophie.’

However, the insider said Nine ultimately decided to not work with Skye after she drastically changed her appearance through cosmetic surgery.
‘This whole idea came crashing down as the network noticed [she] had drastically changed her look, which turned Nine off the idea to cast her.’
Skye recently went to Turkey to visit a renowned cosmetic surgeon, who performed an eye surgery known as a fox eye lift on her.
She later revealed that in addition to the fox eye lift, she also got liposuction on her arms and inner thighs, a temporal lift and a blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery.
‘The problem with changing your appearance and even your hair colour is that your brand is often wrapped up in a look you are famous for,’ the source said.
‘I don’t think Nine was unconfident with her ability to host the show. I think it was just “the look” they were hiring her for that has changed.’
