Fatima’s Confrontation with Angela: Did She Cross the Line Over Dating Choices?

Fatima’s Confrontation with Angela: Did She Cross the Line Over Dating Choices?

In Zatima‘s latest episodes, we see mounting tension between Fatima and Angela, especially when Fatima confronts Angela about her “revolving door” of relationships. Many fans are split on this scene, with some siding with Fatima’s frustration and others believing Angela didn’t deserve the harsh response. After rewatching episodes 9 and 10, I feel that Fatima’s outburst was unnecessary and forced.

To set the scene, Fatima is venting about her ongoing drama with Zac, saying that every time they resolve one issue, another one arises. Angela simply responds with, “Isn’t that exhausting?”—a valid observation, especially considering how often Angela has witnessed Fatima and Zac’s chaotic relationship firsthand. From previous conflicts to the chaos caused by Zac’s brother, Angela has seen a lot, so her question seemed natural, not as unsolicited advice. But Fatima’s response—attacking Angela’s dating life—felt disproportionate, as if the show forced drama between friends for shock value.

This season of Zatima often relies on unnecessary drama, such as Fatima trashing Deja’s place during her birthday party. Fatima’s actions were extreme and seemed out of character, making her feel like a caricature of “angry Fatima.” It’s reminiscent of Veronica Harrington’s increasingly unhinged behavior in The Haves and the Have Nots—sensational for the sake of keeping viewers hooked.

Returning to Angela, she has shown concern for Fatima in the past, even as she’s witnessed the toll Fatima’s relationship with Zac takes on her. So when Fatima snaps and tells Angela she’s unqualified to give advice, it feels unjustified. It’s as though Fatima projects her frustrations onto Angela, blaming her rather than facing the real issues in her relationship.

Ultimately, this scene highlights the show’s reliance on forced tension, even between friends. Fatima’s attack on Angela was uncalled for, and if the goal was to show Fatima needing space, there were other ways to do it without creating needless conflict. For now, I’m siding with Angela—her question was fair, and Fatima’s response was out of line.
