Celebrity Big Brother star breaks down in tears over split from former co-star
Celebrity Big Brother star Ella Rae Wise has broken down in tears discussing her shock split from TOWIE beau Dan Edgar.
Ella and Dan began dating in January last year when they got together during a cast trip to Bali, but their relationship has been tumultuous as shown in the ITV reality show.
Ella confirmed that she and Dan had split a week before she entered the house, writing on her Instagram Stories during a Q+A: “Yes and happily single. Focusing on myself and my brand.”
Now that CBB has begun, Ella opened up on her recent break-up with fellow housemates Angellica Bell and JoJo Siwa, becoming teary in the process.
“I knew something wasn’t right,” she said, with JoJo and Angellica embracing the star. “Thank you. It’s just one of them things.”
The reality TV star continued: “I just feel like an idiot because everyone… I just knew he weren’t going to be what I wanted him to be.
“And I thought maybe he might for me but he just… and I don’t want to waste years trying to change someone, do you know what I mean?”
Angellica said that her decision to call off the relationship “showed her strength”, with Ella adding: “Yeah, I just have to let it be. And it doesn’t mean we can’t be friends because we tried.”
Dancing On Ice star Dan opened up about their split in an interview with The Sun, describing the past week as a “strange turn of events”.
“The past week has seen a strange turn of events and things have been said that I didn’t really want to comment on,” he said.
“But, to put it straight, Ella and I agreed to go our separate ways amicably last week, and were speaking right up until she left to go into the house.
“I think we both have our reasons for why it wasn’t working out, but there are certain things in life I would rather keep private. I wish her all the best and hope she enjoys her experience.”
CBB began this week with castmates including the likes of Mickey Rourke, Trisha Goddard, Jack P Shepherd, and Chris Hughes.
