Big Brother Outrage Erupts Over Safe HOH Move – And There’s One Shocking Claim No One’s Buying (SPOILERS)

Big Brother 27 week 3 Head of Household (HOH) Lauren Domingue has outraged and frustrated fans with her nominations, and there’s one claim that she made that’s hard for them to believe. Lauren, a 22-year-old bridal consultant from Lafayette, Louisiana, won the week 3 HOH competition, which was a memory game featuring Big Brother 17 twins Liz and Julia Nolan telling long, complicated stories with information for the houseguests to memorize.

The Big Brother 27 week 3 HOH competition came down to Lauren and Mickey Lee, and Lauren answered the final question correctly, winning the game. When it came time to make her nominations, Lauren sought the advice of her fellow houseguests. Before winning HOH, Lauren had been playing an under-the-radar game, but now she’s at the forefront of the action, which has made her uncomfortable.

Big Brother 27 Week 3 HOH Lauren Domingue Played It Safe With Her Nominations

Lauren Didn’t Want To Make Waves In The House

When Lauren made her nominations, she took the easy way out and nominated three people for eviction–Keanu Soto, Kelley Jorgensen, and Will Williams–who’d been nominated the week before by HOH Jimmy Heagerty. While it was understandable that she wanted to nominate Keanu because he was the house’s target, her other nominees didn’t make much sense.

Kelley volunteered to go on the chopping block for the third week in a row, so Lauren took her up on it so she didn’t get more blood on her hands. Lauren also nominated Will, who’s the oldest houseguest at 50, as a pawn. Will was angry that Lauren nominated him because he’d just come off the chopping block after a unanimous vote that evicted Amy Bingham, and he didn’t want to be seen as a perpetual pawn.

Keanu and Kelley had both saved themselves with secret Power of Veto powers the previous week, which left Adrian Rocha as Jimmy’s only original nominee. He replaced them with Amy and Will, respectively, and then Adrian won the BB Blockbuster competition, which meant that all of Jimmy’s original nominees were safe. Now Lauren’s HOH just feels like a repeat of Jimmy’s.

In the comments section of a Big Brother Instagram post that announced Lauren’s nominees, fans expressed their outrage and frustration about her choices. Many fans wished that she’d made a big move and nominated Jimmy or returning Big Brother 13 winner Rachel Reilly, both of whom are huge threats in the house.

One viewer wrote, “She needed to put up Rachel and Jimmy and watch them each other alive.” Another said, “I love Lauren but this is typical modern BB. Should’ve been Keanu Rachel Jimmy.”

A third fan predicted that Rachel and Jimmy would make it to the finale because everyone is too scared to put them up. They wrote, “This season has been so boring so far. I need the [houseguests] to make big moves. The way everyone is playing, Rachel and Jimmy will make it to the top two. Rachel is my favorite of all time, but the newbies are so scared to go against her. It reminds me of BB19 with [returning player] Paul [Abrahamian].”

Rachel sees Lauren as so little of a threat that she even joked, “Who’s Lauren again?” when Lauren won HOH. In her confessional, Rachel shared that she’s become frustrated by the modern way that houseguests play Big Brother, longing for the old-school style of in-your-face gameplay that dominated earlier seasons, including her own, and earned her the win.

Another fan commented about how Lauren declared that she wanted to make big moves, but then did the exact opposite, writing, “‘I want to make my mark on this game’ puts up the most boring and predictable nominees lol.” A different viewer wrote, “wants to play her own game* honors previous HOH’s nominations* ….” Another person said, “She confirmed she’s a floater with these nominations.”

Lauren’s Replacement Nominee Is Frustrating

Lauren’s Choice Was Also Nominated Last Week

After Keanu won the Power of Veto competition and used the Veto to save himself from the chopping block, Lauren was faced with choosing a replacement nominee. She had a really hard time making this decision, and even expressed that she wished that she didn’t win HOH this week. Lauren was torn between nominating Ashley Hollis or Adrian for eviction.

Rachel had previously warned Lauren not to let the men in the house control her HOH reign, but she relied on Jimmy and Vince Panaro for guidance about what to do. They felt that Ashley should go up, but Lauren was worried that if she nominated her she’d upset too many people in the house, so she went with the safer route and nominated Adrian again. Ashley had promised Lauren safety until Jury if she kept her off the block.

In the comments section of a Big Brother Network article about Lauren nominating Adrian, fans expressed rage against her, declaring that she wasted her HOH. One fan wrote, “Lauren had the worst HOH so far this season.” Another lamented, “Wow Lauren. Adrian, Will and Kelley. How original!,” while someone else agreed, “WEAK!”

Lauren could’ve made a big move by nominating Ashley, another one of Rachel’s allies, in order to further weaken the Big Brother legend after she lost her biggest ally, Amy, last week. However, an even more respectable move would’ve been for Lauren to nominate Rachel herself at this point.

Although Rachel could’ve saved herself in the BB Blockbuster competition, if Lauren had nominated Rachel, Jimmy, and Keanu from the beginning, then it would’ve been certain that one of the biggest threats would’ve been evicted. Now, either Will, Adrian, or Kelley will be heading out the door, which isn’t much of a feat for Lauren, who’d declared that she wanted to make big moves in the game.

Lauren Claims To Be A Big Brother Superfan

Lauren Isn’t Playing Like A True Fan Of The Show

Big Brother 27 Houseguest Lauren Domingue As HOH At The Nomination Ceremony

During the Big Brother 27 premiere, Lauren claimed to be a superfan of the show. She felt that people in the house would assume that she was “just this Southern, ditzy girl,” but what they wouldn’t know is that she’s a Big Brother superfan. Her mom even got her an HOH robe about seven years ago, which she’s been wearing ever since.

However, now that Lauren is the owner of the real HOH robe, she’s been letting fans down. Based on her nominations and how she’s behaved as HOH, it doesn’t seem that she has as much Big Brother knowledge as she thinks that she does. A superfan wouldn’t need to look for advice from other houseguests in order to make a decision about who to put on the chopping block or a replacement nominee.

Big Brother 27 fans agree, and, in the comments section of the Big Brother Network article, one stated, What a waste of an HOH.. Not much of a superfan move. Another quipped, “Lauren’s new name is just like that old Hefty commercial….. wimpy wimpy wimpy. Please no more little mice as HOH.” A third fan sarcastically wondered, “Did she end up tossing a coin?,” implying that Lauren had no strategy behind her replacement nominee choice.

As a self-proclaimed Big Brother superfan, Lauren should’ve done more with her HOH. She’s playing it much too safe. If she’d nominated Keanu, Jimmy, and Rachel from the start, then she would’ve assured that one of them would’ve gone home. The chances of them retaliating against her were small because there are bigger targets in the house. Lauren is a sweet person with a good heart, but her HOH didn’t live up to Big Brother’s motto, “expect the unexpected.”
