Big Brother 27’s First HOH Of The Season Made This Rookie Mistake With His Nominations

Big Brother 27’s first Head of Household, Vince Panaro, made this massive rookie mistake with his first trio of nominations, setting himself up for trouble as the competition continues. While Vince, who was named Big Brother 27’s first HOH during the season premiere, had the chance to nominate three houseguests for eviction during the second episode, his decision wasn’t an easy one.

Vince, who joined the Big Brother 27 cast as a super fan who was looking to play a strategic game, made it clear that winning the first HOH of the season would be a double-edged sword. Typically, the first HOH has to make choices based on the temperature of the house, which can lead to strange, out of place houseguests getting nominated.

Though Vince took his time throughout the episode to try and figure out who were the best nominees for his game, it was tough to scope everyone out with so little time together and so little information available. Listening to many of his other houseguests and leaving the four Have Nots who were saved during the episode, Vince made a quick, potentially damaging decision.

Several Houseguests Remained Safe

Although Vince was quick to ask to compete in the first Head of Household competition of the season, he wasn’t certain about his nominations once it came down to making a decision. While he was open to several different people in the Big Brother 27 cast, there were four houseguests that Vince wasn’t able to choose for nomination because of a twist.

Big Brother 27’s surprise houseguest, legend Rachel Reilly, was a shock for viewers when she walked into the BB house. While she was someone most of the new houseguests may have been interested in targeting, Rachel was announced to be safe, as well as a Have Not for the first week of the season. Choosing four others, Rachel secured their safety, too.

Choosing to share her Have Not status with Cliffton “Will” Williams, Zach Cornell, and Ava Pearl, Rachel was able to make some early connections with her fellow houseguests and secure their safety for the week. This meant, however, that the pool of houseguests Vince could choose from was down to 11 houseguests, which seemed far smaller than he originally expected.

After the initial HOH competition, Vince and the three others he played the competition with made a pact not to put each other up if they won the title. Vince, who was chosen by Jimmy Heagerty to compete for HOH along with Ashley Hollis and Adrian Rocha, was clear that he wouldn’t put any of the three up for eviction.

While the nomination process wasn’t easy, things began to shift when Ashley asked to use Vince’s HOH shower. After taking a long shower, which caused Vince to be delayed in taking a shower of his own and heading to bed, the rest of the house appeared to take things personally. Though Ashley had cleared it with Vince, the shower situation grew rapidly.

He Has A Target In Mind

Although Vince had shared he wasn’t going to put up Ashley, he went back on his word and chose to nominate her, Amy Bingham, and Isaiah “Zae” Frederich for eviction. Amy, who got teary when Vince discussed potentially putting up Ashley, was an easy choice for Vince, and though Zae is his target, choosing to put up Ashley was easier as HOH.

Despite taking the seemingly easy route, Vince made a rookie mistake during his HOH reign, especially in the first week of competition. While he appears to have just gone with the house, Vince went back on his word, which was given publicly. Should Ashley choose to use this against him, his first Big Brother nominations could easily backfire.
