Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Season 8 Episode 10 Review: Forget Me Not

Episode 10 of Sistas hits a surprisingly decent note after the chaos of the previous episodes. It’s not a showstopper, but for the most part, it manages to hold its own in the midst of this season’s low bar. In fact, I’d say this episode is one of the better ones so far—though that’s not exactly a high bar to clear.

Gary’s Return & The Amnesia Drama

The episode kicks off with Gary’s unexpected escape from the hospital. He seems to have had enough of the tests and the bed, so he just walked out, no wallet, no ID, and no real plan. Somehow, though, he manages to make his way to Andy’s place, remembering just one thing: “You’re the only one I can trust.” But the whole situation feels a bit forced. How does he remember Andy but forget everyone else? Plot convenience, I guess.

Once at Andy’s apartment, Gary is awkwardly eating her leftovers, and Andy can’t hide the lingering feelings she has for him. When Robin shows up, it’s clear she’s skeptical of the situation—she sees through Gary’s “amnesia” act. But Andy seems to still be clinging to the hope that there’s something real between her and Gary. This entire dynamic is giving “Dollar Store version of what she had with Gary,” and it’s hard not to feel bad for Jordan. He never stood a chance.

Robin’s Suspicion & Hudson’s Awkward Arrival

Robin’s suspicions grow as she watches Andy play into Gary’s amnesia story, and when Hudson shows up, it feels like a soap opera in full swing. Andy, Gary, and Hudson are now in this odd love triangle situation, and it’s hard to decide if it’s jealousy, concern, or both driving the drama.

What really caught my attention was the “pinky lock” moment between Andy and Gary. I don’t remember this being a thing in previous seasons, so it almost felt like the writers were trying to force a connection that wasn’t really there anymore. It makes me wonder if Jordan was just a placeholder for Gary all along.

Tony & Danny’s PDA Drama

Over at the airport, Tony and Danny’s public PDA is starting to become a problem. While Leonard is quick to call them out, he’s got a point. Tony, as the VP, should know better than to act all lovey-dovey in front of co-workers and customers. I get that they’re in a relationship, but a little professionalism wouldn’t hurt. At least they agree to meet up privately later to avoid further embarrassment.

Rich and Sabrina’s Bonding Moment

Rich and Sabrina have a much-needed heart-to-heart when he brings her a basketball, a nod to the past she shared with Grayson. It’s a refreshing scene to watch because it shows Rich actually trying to understand Sabrina’s life beyond the couple moments with Danny and Tony. Plus, it’s clear he’s making an effort to bond with Sabrina’s friends, something I hope continues.

The Salon Drama & Baby Kicks

Meanwhile, at the salon, Aaron is feeling the baby kick, but Zach, unfortunately, can’t feel anything. Fans are speculating if this is foreshadowing something more serious, like a stillbirth, or if it’s just a false alarm. What’s strange, though, is the sudden shift in Aaron’s character. He’s becoming more of a smart-aleck than usual, which feels out of place for him. The tension between Zach and Aaron is forced, especially when it could’ve been avoided. Why must every couple have drama, even when things seem peaceful?

Fatima, Pam, & Hayden Drama

The Fatima-Pam-Hayden triangle was the most entertaining part of the episode. Hayden, being his usual antagonistic self, tries to flex his power, but Fatima quickly shuts him down, reminding him that she’s in charge of the case. The dynamic between Fatima, Pam, and Karen has shifted—Fatima is now firmly in control, and it’s clear she’s no longer intimidated by Hayden’s antics. It’s refreshing to see Fatima assert herself like this, and it gives a glimpse of how things could unfold if she continues to be this assertive.

In summary, Sistas Season 8, Episode 10, manages to deliver some serviceable moments, though it’s not quite the strong midseason finale I hoped for. It’s like someone added a little bit of seasoning, but the dish still feels off. That said, I’m still holding out hope for the upcoming episodes to bring more of the heat we need.
