Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Will Lisa & Malik Move Into Calvin’s Condo?

In a recent video discussion about whether Malik and Lisa from The Upshaws should get married instead of Calvin and Laura, many viewers weighed in with their opinions. While the idea of Malik and Lisa tying the knot is intriguing, I personally feel that the couple hasn’t had enough development to warrant a marriage just yet. Some fans, however, made valid points in favor of their union, suggesting that they could be ready for that next step. It’s an interesting debate, but as of now, their relationship hasn’t fully convinced me they should get married.

One viewer offered a twist that I thought was a great idea: What if Calvin and Miranda get married instead of Calvin and Laura, and instead of sticking with the condo, they buy a house? This would open up the possibility of Malik and Lisa moving into the condo. Going back to an episode from a couple of seasons ago, “Fine Wine,” Calvin was in the process of selling the condo with the realtor Veronica, as he and Laura were preparing for their wedding and considering moving elsewhere. We never really learned what happened with the condo after that episode, but keeping it in the storyline could make sense if Calvin and Miranda decide to get married.

If Malik and Lisa get to move into the condo, it could be a great transition for them as they become more financially independent. Maybe Malik gets a raise working on a political campaign, or Lisa finds her niche and secures a job. Together, they could finally afford to move out with their daughter, freeing up space in CJ and Janine’s house. This would allow CJ and Janine to focus more on their marriage counseling, and also create more space for intimacy and personal time. Less people in the house could definitely make a difference for them.

As for the condo itself, even if Calvin moves out with whoever he marries, it could still serve as an important set piece in the show. I don’t know if we’ll get a full set change, especially with The Upshaws entering its 13th season, and Assisted Living still using the same two sets for its fifth season. If Calvin moves to a new place, we might only hear about it in passing, with a quick mention of them moving into a new condo or house, rather than seeing their new home on-screen.

Ultimately, it seems like Malik and Lisa moving into the condo could be a great storyline development, benefiting both their family dynamics and CJ and Janine’s relationship. What do you think?
