Love Island fans think Joey Essex knew his ex Grace Jackson would join the ITV2 series as a bombshell, amid her “unexpected” arrival.

Viewers saw Joey left speechless in a recent episode, as three bombshells walked into the villa. But Joey was left confessing to his co-stars that he used to date one of the girls, Grace, as she introduced herself to the Islanders.

As the pair hugged it out, they were later seen talking about their past romance. The outside link was also spoken about by other Islanders, causing drama for Joey and his current partner on the show Samantha Kenny.

But despite Joey seeming super shocked to see Grace and the Islanders not usually informed of who the bombshells are before they enter, some fans are convinced Joey knew about it. Some possible “clues” may have hinted that Joey knew he’d be seeing Grace, according to viewers, including his drama with Samantha and his “bad acting”.

Taking to X, one fan suggested that Joey’s face gave away he knew Grace would be in the villa, while another fan claimed his reluctance to crack on with any of the girls, including partner Samantha, was a major hint. One fan said: “Joey you knew she was coming in, your acting skills are abysmal.”

Another fan posted: “Joey 100% knew Grace was coming in which is why he hasn’t cracked on with anyone, even Samantha.” A third viewer said: “Nothing can convince me that Joey Essex isn’t in cahoots with the producers and doesn’t have access to the internet.” That said, this isn’t the first time producers have brought in an ex of an Islander to cause trouble, and the Islanders are meant to have no contact with the outside world before and during the show.

It comes after Joey’s kiss with former flame Grace during a challenge upset Samantha on Friday. Earlier on in the day, Grace chatted to Joey and the pair reflected on their “intense” relationship, deciding to put an end to any awkwardness.

Despite the 33-year-old letting Samantha know that Grace’s appearance in the villa “meant nothing”, a drinking game soon stirred things up for the pair when Joey was asked to share a three-way kiss with two women. Samantha was undoubtedly hopeful she’d be chosen but in a jaw-dropping twist, Joey decide to share the challenge with Grace and fellow bombshell Tiffany Leighton.

Viewers watching the moment unfold were left convinced it spelled out an exit for Samantha soon, while she was visibly shocked about his decision not to kiss her. Taking to X, one fan posted: “Guys if bombshells get first pick at the recoupling, Grace will pick Joey and Samantha might go home wait.”
