Love Island star welcomes first child with his reality TV fiancée as they share first adorable snaps
The Circle’s Beth Dunlavey and former Love Island star Connagh Howard have welcomed their first child together. The couple, who started dating in 2020, shared the joyful news on Instagram with a sweet black and white photo of their newborn son’s tiny feet. They captioned the post: “Welcome to the world, perfect precious boy. 21/08/24”.
Beth, who rose to fame on the Channel 4 show in 2019, also shared her gratitude on her Instagram Story, writing: “So grateful for our strong miracle baby boy. Having to have you early means we get eight extra weeks with you precious. We love you so much x.” Their celebrity friends, including All Stars winner Molly Smith and Shaughna Phillips, were quick to congratulate them in the comments section.
The couple first revealed they were expecting back in April, expressing their excitement and saying they were “over the moon”. They shared their journey to parenthood, including Beth’s struggle with fertility and their experience with IVF, through a heartfelt video.
In the video, the reality stars are seen getting emotional as they recount their long journey before conceiving their ‘miracle’ child. Beth wrote: “Every injection, every tear, every procedure, every pain; every last inch of this journey has been worth it for you, and I’d do it 100 times over if I had to, we already love you so much. Our baby decided the time was right and we are over the moon to finally announce we are PREGNANT.”
She went on to say: “I know that not everyone’s journey looks like ours, and announcements like this are hard to see, I’ve been there and I see you. To those still waiting for their miracle, I send you all my love and hope. Don’t give up.”
Beth and Connagh, who were part of the sixth season of the ITV2 dating show, received a flurry of congratulations from their famous friends. Sophie Kasaei couldn’t contain her excitement, commenting: “Oh my god Beth this is unbelievable. I knew your time would come.”
Paige Turley expressed her joy, saying: “Awwww so happy for you guys. Congratulations.” Fellow Love Island stars Molly Smith and Callum Jones chimed in with: “The best news”, and “Congratulations to you both.”
Beth has always been candid about her struggle to conceive, revealing that she and Connagh stopped being ‘careful’ a year ago in hopes of falling pregnant.
In 2022, Beth underwent surgery for endometriosis before being referred to a fertility clinic in September of the same year.
Connagh’s first semen analysis came back borderline but after making some lifestyle changes, including cutting out protein supplements, he retested in February 2023 and his sample had “improved.”
Despite undergoing eight sessions of acupuncture, The Circle star didn’t find success. After being diagnosed with “unexplained fertility”, the couple, who started dating in 2020, were offered IVF.
In 2021, Connagh and Beth moved in together after spending the 2020 lockdown living with her parents. Connagh popped the question in December last year.
