Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Is Robin Being Honest To Andi About Why He’s Back In Atlanta?

“How did you even know I was being questioned?” Andy asked, surprised. Robin replied, “An old colleague at the Bureau told me that a top attorney from my firm was being interrogated all morning.” Andy raised an eyebrow, “Weren’t you supposed to be in London opening the UK division?” Robin nodded, “I was, but when I heard about Leland’s passing, I felt it was time to come back and offer some stability during the transition.”

It’s hard to ignore the mystery surrounding Robin’s sudden return, especially after Gary’s stabbing. His reappearance seems almost too coincidental, and despite his answer, one wonders if he’s hiding more. Is he genuinely back to help, or could he have his own motives?

I have to give credit to the writers here. Despite how drawn-out the “Who stabbed Gary?” storyline feels, it’s crafted in a way that makes it hard to trust anyone’s motives. Each character raises suspicions, like in classic mystery series where everyone could be a suspect. When Robin returned, Karen even pointed out how suspicious it was that he showed up right after Gary was attacked.

Robin’s response to Andy’s question about how he knew she was being questioned doesn’t fully add up. There are two main possibilities here: either Robin himself stabbed Gary and anticipated the investigation, so he showed up to “support” Andy, or he’s been keeping tabs on her since he left Atlanta in Season 5. After all, we haven’t seen him for a while, and his return feels strategic, almost like he’s here to pick up where he left off with Andy. But given Andy’s history with him, it’s a risky move, considering she didn’t treat him well. Yet Robin wasn’t perfect either; he pursued a woman engaged to another man, adding layers to the situation.

As for Robin’s role in the firm, some fans pointed out an interesting detail: Robin was only removed from the Atlanta branch, not the entire firm he built. His influence may have diminished, but he still holds sway, as shown when he transferred Andy’s caseload to Hayden. This suggests he’s not just broke or powerless, even though he struggled to raise $3 million quickly, leading to his initial downfall. It’s likely that much of Robin’s wealth is tied up in assets rather than accessible cash—similar to billionaires with investments in property and art rather than stacks of money in the bank.

All in all, Robin’s intentions remain unclear, especially given his potential legal influence over Andy. Some speculate he’s trying to keep her from getting entangled with Jordan during this sensitive time, while others feel he’s manipulating the situation to make himself look better. Regardless, Robin’s return adds intrigue, and I’m glad to see him back, though I’m giving him a suspicious side-eye.
