‘Big Brother 27’ spoilers: Zae uses a slur, Kelley delivers a tearful confession
It wouldn’t be Big Brother without a contestant using highly inappropriate language, and this summer’s first culprit is Isaiah “Zae” Frederich. While playing late-night chess with Keanu Soto on Tuesday, Zae made a bad move in the board game and blurted out the R-word, a slur against people with intellectual disabilities.
“Oh sh-t, I’m a f–king r—-d,” Zae declared before immediately realizing his mistake. “Damn, I shouldn’t say that word.”
Keanu chuckled uncomfortably and responded, “No, you shouldn’t.”
“Damn it. That was one of the ones I was working on not saying for this,” Zae said, suggesting that it’s a word he uses in his real life.
Keanu tried to make Zae feel at ease by theorizing that the Big Brother live feed cameras weren’t on them. “You’re lucky it’s late,” he said. “They probably don’t even have the live feed on us. They have one camera watching us, that’s it.” Famous last words?
Zae is a 23-year-old salesman and a former Utah Mormon who now resides in Paducah, Ky. He’s one of the three nominees for eviction in Week 1, along with Amy Bingham and Kelley Jorgensen. Head of Household Vince Panaro initially placed Zae, Amy, and Ashley Hollis on the block, but Ashley won the first Veto competition of Season 27 and used the medallion to save herself, so Vince had a decision to make.
In the second episode, Kelley and Vince made a final two deal and Kelley offered herself up as a pawn in order to keep their alliance a secret. Vince initially thought she was crazy, but he decided to take her up on her offer once Ashley used the Veto on herself. Unfortunately for Kelley, she later realized that she may have made a huge mistake.
“I think I f–ked up,” Kelley confessed to the camera while openly crying alone in the HOH room. The 29-year-old web designer from Burbank, S.D., added, “I thought I could do something cool, something different, play a little harder, play a little crazier, not hurt anybody.”
Kelley revealed to Vince that she was preparing an epic takedown speech that she hoped would convince people to keep her in the game. Unfortunately, Kelley must be living in a fantasy land if she believes speeches are what save people. Traditionally, everybody already knows who they are voting for by the time Julie Chen Moonves pops up on Thursday night.
Vince was later seen telling the camera that the house was evenly split between who they wanted to go home. “It might come down to another decision that I have to f–king make again,” he said, alluding to a potential tie he’d have to break. “I thought Week 1 was supposed to be easy. Nope. Nominated four people. Three of the four are staying in the house. One has [BB legend Rachel Reilly] attached to her. And I assume they’ll all put me on the block. Do I have the numbers, even if I were on the block? I’d like to think so. But how do you ever actually know? Everyone has a f–king final two with everyone.”
