CBB fans demand bosses step in after Mickey Rourke ‘breaks rules’ while out cold on sofa

Mickey Rourke’s housemates got on with the show as the star was spotted unable to keep up with filming

Not even a day into Celebrity Big Brother, new housemate Mickey Rourke seems to have had enough. This year’s line-up of stars arrived in the infamous house on April 7, and the actor lasted just a couple of hours before deciding to sleep it out.

All of the newbies arrived at the house after being introduced to the public – during an embarrassing technical glitch – before finally getting the chance to meet each other.

Traditionally, the bedroom is locked on night one so that the celebs can get to know each other ahead of a big twist, but Hollywood star Mickey, 72, didn’t seem interested in taking part in a bonding session.

The ITV stars were shown mingling with each other at around midnight, with Jojo Siwa busy spending some points while Olympian Daley Thompson chatted to CBBC legend Angelica Bell.

Ignoring the hustle and bustle around him, boxing pro Mickey opted to take up a sofa for himself and catch sleep despite the fact he wasn’t supposed to, with the other housemates soon laying a blanket on him and grabbing a pillow.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were torn about his choice to skip out on the action and ignore the no-sleeping rule. “Not Mickey asleep already gonna be such a dud housemate,” one person said, while another reasoned: “I honestly don’t blame Mickey for going to sleep on that couch, I’d be shattered too if it was like half 1 and they hadn’t opened the bedrooms yet.”

“How is Mickey able to sleep like that with all the noise,” said a second, while a third person raged: “What happened to not allowed to sleep, BB give Mickey the Klaxon, for all of us lol!”

While one commenter wanted Mickey to be thrown out of the house for sleeping on the job, he’s already faced countless calls for axing due to his ‘inappropriate behaviour’ towards host AJ Odudu right as the show kicked off.

AJ looked gorgeous in a form fitting outfit decorated with sparkling gems and feathers, and Mickey made it very clear that he was taken by the star.

As she and her co-host Will Best tried to encourage the actor to enter the house, he continued to gaze at AJ, looking her up and pouting down before grabbing onto her and saying: “I’m gonna stay with you.”

“Stop looking at me,” AJ said jokingly, before things took a twist as Mickey tried to grab her to go with him, seemingly intent on making sure she stayed by his side throughout the show. Will got between the two by gripping AJ’s hand and putting his arm around her, with fans praising his actions online.

“Massive kudos to Will Best for jumping straight to AJ’s defence there, protecting his female colleague from unwanted lascivious male attention from Mickey Rourke. Nice to see there’s still gentlemen out there,” one person penned.
