TOWIE’s Joey Essex has recently responded to a heated exchange involving his ex Grace Jackson from the Love Island All Stars series. During a scene where Grace confided in co-star Harriet Blackmore, mentioning her former relationship with Joey, Harriet compared Luca Bish unfavourably to Joey, saying, “Sorry to say the J word but he ain’t Joey. Do you know what I mean? He’s [Luca] not like that, he wouldn’t entertain something he didn’t want to.”

Joey then gave his take on the matter by posting a shocked face emoji, which quickly racked up over 2,000 likes. Previously, Grace and Joey had a short romance during a holiday before joining Love Island, only to split up and then reunite briefly on the show, reigniting their spark. However, their romance took another hit after new contestant Jessy Potts arrived and caught Joey’s eye, leading to heartbreak for Grace once more.

Joey’s subsequent relationship with Jessy ended shortly after the show concluded. Throughout their

After parting ways with Joey, Grace paired up with Reuben Collins on the programme, although that connection too petered out post-villa, reports the Mirror. Grace is presently in the All Stars villa for another shot at romance and had been getting on well with Luca until a recent fallout. Tensions ran high during a game where the bottle pointed towards Luca, prompting him to “snog the islander other than your partner who shares your vibe.”

In a twist that stunned everyone, he chose to kiss Samie Elishi, a latecomer to the villa and someone with whom Luca shared a pre-show history—they’d exchanged DMs, but after Samie’s lack of response, Luca retracted his messages. Witnessing the kiss, an infuriated Grace lashed out at Luca, demanding he “shut the f**k up.”

This led an upset Luca to declare, “I’m gone,” and walk away. The atmosphere grew tense as the islanders realised the game couldn’t continue post-Luca’s dramatic exit. When Ekin-Su’s turn came around, a visibly distressed Luca muttered: “And then that’s it,” indicating he wished the game to end.

Luca subsequently assured Grace that she was his main focus. However, Grace was more distressed by the fact that he had kissed Samie, despite having sought her advice on who to pursue, only to opt for someone else.

The duo attempted to sort out their differences, but the situation escalated when a public coupling decision resulted in Samie being paired with Luca, leaving Grace without a partner.
