Kate Martin Sends Strong Four-Word Message to Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark recently capped off her WNBA rookie season with the Indiana Fever.
The 22-year-old star cemented herself as one of the biggest stars in the WNBA. On the court, Clark made an immediate impact on the Fever, and off the court, she’s become one of the most talked-about sports figures on social media.
Clark has over 2.9 million followers on Instagram and over 464.2k on X.
She recently took to social media to share a message with her fans, thanking those who supported her throughout her journey of being able to live out her dreams.
“Year one,” Clark said. “Thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two.”
Her former teammate with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kate Martin, responded to her post, sending a kind note to the Fever star.
“So proud of you,” Martin said.
Clark and Martin played together at the collegiate level for four years. Indiana’s young star arrived at Iowa in 2020, while Martin’s freshman year was in 2019.
During their time together, Clark averaged 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists in her four-year career. Martin averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in five seasons with the Hawkeyes.
The two led the Hawkeyes to back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2023 and 2024.
Clark’s viral post is filled with hundreds of thousands of reactions congratulating the rookie on a phenomenal rookie season.
During her first year in the league, Clark averaged 19.2, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in average assists and led the rookie class in average points, ultimately being named a WNBA All-Star at 22 years old.
