Love Island All Stars’ Casey O’Gorman must change or risks ‘fading into irrelevance’
Casey O’Gorman has to put in the work this series of Love Island: All Stars, if he wants to make his return a success, a PR expert has said.
The cheeky chap returned to the Love Island villa for the third time this week, joining the starting line-up as a bombshell. He was the second bombshell of the series, following the return of former winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu, who could use the show to “revamp her career”.
Viewers branded Casey’s comeback “embarrassing”, with him even joking that the Love Island villa felt like “home”. Minutes into his return, he got into a blazing row with co-star Kaz Crossley, who slammed his behaviour with girls outside the villa.
And unless he shows some major changes, his Love Island return will do nothing for him, says PR specialist Kayley Cornelius.
Speaking on behalf of Betfred Lotto, Kayley told Daily Star: “Casey is building a rather questionable reputation as the first islander to return to the Love Island villa for a third time. As a publicity stunt, making Love Island history might seem like a savvy move, with the shock factor alone enough to get people talking.
“However, while Casey’s name is currently dominating headlines and his social media accounts will undoubtedly be benefitting from the extra attention, that buzz will be short-lived unless he takes a different approach this time.
“He can’t afford to play the Love Island game the same way he has in his previous two appearances, as it’s clearly not resonated with viewers.
“He’ll need to either bring the entertainment or show a new side of himself that we haven’t seen before to keep audiences engaged. Whatever he does, it has to make a lasting impact, or he risks being voted off early and fading into irrelevance.”
Kayley went on: “For Casey to truly come out on top, he’ll need a clear game plan and a solid idea of what he wants to achieve once his time on the show is over. If his goal is to promote an upcoming project or expand his professional prospects, his time on the show could work in his favour.
“But without a strategic approach or a defined purpose, it’s unlikely Casey will gain much from this series in terms of personal brand or image, other than a title he’ll struggle to shake off.”
