Tyler Perry’s Zatima | Fatima Treats Zac With A ‘Do As I Say, Not As I Do’ Mentality

I really wish we could wrap up this discussion, but it seems like every week, especially as we approach the season finale, it’s getting harder to ignore Fatima’s behavior. I’ve already made a video calling her out as the biggest hypocrite, but today I want to dive into her lack of accountability. Honestly, if you haven’t already, check out my playlist on Sisters Season 5, because I go deep on how Fatima is written as unapologetic and non-accountable. She’s at her worst in that season, and her actions in Zatima Season 3 are just bringing back all that frustration.

It always seems like Zach is the one who has to learn a lesson. He’s constantly the one who needs to apologize, grow up, and control his anger. But when you look at the series as a whole, Fatima is the one who’s pulled out guns, knives, and baseball bats in the relationship. She even had a gun ready in the parking garage to protect Andy from Jasmine and her girls, which makes sense in that situation. But then, Fatima is constantly carrying weapons or threatening people like Gary, slapping Hayden in the office, and acting as if there are no consequences. The problem is, most of her fans (mostly women, as I’ve noticed) see themselves in her—acting out in ways they wish they could, but thankfully don’t, because they understand that real-world actions have consequences. Fatima, however, is never held accountable.

What really got to me is the “plot armor” that Fatima enjoys. Tyler Perry lets her get away with things that would normally lead to her being arrested, fired, or dumped. Instead, the focus is always on Zach, who gets blamed for everything. He’s the one who’s forced to apologize, while Fatima just keeps going on her merry way without any real consequences. It used to feel like a relationship built on checks and balances. If one of them wasn’t emotionally pulling their weight, the other would step in. But now, it’s more like “you do what I say, but don’t expect the same in return.” Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time Fatima checked in on Zach in a meaningful way, aside from a brief moment in Sisters Season 2.

Season 6 of Sisters was the last time we saw them have those quiet, genuine moments where they checked on each other. It wasn’t perfect, but it felt real. Now, it’s all about Fatima’s actions and Zach being the one who’s expected to fix things.

Fatima’s lack of accountability is still glaring. Sure, in Sisters, there are some consequences, like when her job is on the line after messing with Gary and the whole thing with Robin’s photos, but it’s been a long time coming. In Zatima, Fatima destroyed Deja’s apartment, but nothing has happened to her. Deja called the cops, but two days later, Fatima is still walking free. This kind of behavior would make the storyline more interesting if Fatima was forced to face real consequences, but as it stands, the story is weighed down by her getting away with everything.
