Maura Higgins reflects on romance with Curtis Pritchard as he heads back into Love Island villa

With the return of Love Island All Stars just around the corner, Maura Higgins has spilled the tea on her romance with Curtis Pritchard, who will return to the villa tomorrow night (Monday 13 January).

Speaking to The Times, Maura — who recently finished her own stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! — shared details of her time with the professional dancer, whom she met on the 2019 season of the show.

When asked if her relationship with Curtis was a ‘true passion’, she emphatically replied with a “no” before adding: “You’re in this confined space and maybe you think you like someone that you probably wouldn’t on the outside.”

Of her dating history as a whole, Maura admitted to having “terrible taste in men” — but said she’s still open to finding the one. “It would be lovely [to be in love],” she said, going on to reveal she’s “happy right now” and doesn’t feel like she “needs a man”.

Since her relationship with Curtis — which saw them finish fourth on Love Island and remain coupled up for eight months afterwards — Maura has been romantically linked to another former Islander, Chris Taylor, as well as Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice. More recently, Maura is rumoured to be dating Pete Wicks from The Only Way Is Essex, although neither have officially confirmed their relationship, they’ve dropped a lot of hints.

“I do like to keep things private, but let’s be real, I said it,” Maura admitted on This Morning while reflecting on an I’m A Celeb slip up she made. “You do forget about the cameras, and I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words ‘I miss him’.”
