Reese-Clark rivalry carries over to Unrivaled League as fans anxiously await Angel’s pairing with Lexie Hull

Reese-Clark rivalry carries over to Unrivaled League as fans anxiously await Angel’s pairing with Lexie Hull

With the start of the Unrivaled League just around the corner, fans continue to take a look at Angel Reese and how she will interact with one of her new teammates.

Although the two women have played down suggestions of a rivalry between them, Reese and Caitlin Clark continue to be linked with one another given their battles in the NCAA have now carried over to the WNBA.

That tension received another new twist when it was revealed that Reese, who will play for Rose BC, will be joined by Lexie Hull – one of Clark’s teammates for the Indiana Fever.

Hull is known as a sharpshooter, and given Reese’s rebounding abilities, many believe the two will mesh well on the court.

Fans have their say on the pairing

While that is certainly what Rose BC is hoping for, there are some fans who aren’t as excited to see Hull and Reese play together.

“Why on Earth would Lexis rather play with Angel than Caitlin? Is Angel gonna hand the ball from the paint to Lexie standing just outside the arc? F*** no,” wrote one fan on social media.

Another fan pointed out the contrast between their two playing styles: “Lexie literally shoots twice as good from beyond the arc as Angel does under the [expletive] rim.”

Despite the negative takes, there are some who believe the two women will make it work.

“They don’t watch the Fever, it’s clear (Lexie didn’t start the whole season; looking at averages doesn’t show her value),” wrote one fan.

“She’s not a FA – so not going anywhere, just Angel’s fans being dumb again.”

Another fan wrote that they weren’t surprised the constant debate between Clark and Reese would continue over to the Unrivaled League.

“My 1st prediction about the Unrivaled League is coming true. People trying to make drama with Lexie Hull being on the same team as Angel Reese,” they wrote.

The Unrivaled League tips off on January 17.
