Two new characters are introduced: Nurse Thompson, who works at the rehab center, and Dr. Salas, who handles patient care and updates families on their loved ones’ progress. Given the context, it seems likely that this news is related to Jeremiah’s situation, and Zach might be the one receiving updates about his brother. However, could Connie be the one to get bad news about him? It’s unclear, but given her closeness to the family, she might be impacted by whatever is going on.
