‘9-1-1’: Season 8’s Bee-Nado Conclusion Episode Traps More Than 10M Cross Platform Viewers In 7 Days

The hit series 9-1-1 recently wrapped up its thrilling three-episode “bee-nado” storyline, and the viewership numbers are impressive. After seven days of cross-platform viewing, the third episode has soared to 10.42 million total viewers—a remarkable 89% increase from its live + same-day (L+SD) audience of 5.52 million. Not only did the episode draw in millions, but it also secured a 2.01 rating among adults aged 18-49, reflecting a stunning 294% growth from the same-day figure.

This marks the highest multi-platform viewership the series has seen since last season’s “Poseidon’s Adventure” storyline debuted back in March. While it’s common for shows to experience a spike in viewership during the first episodes of a new season, the real challenge will be whether 9-1-1 can maintain this audience in the coming weeks.

Series creator Ryan Murphy, who has been on a winning streak with his projects lately, is enjoying continued success with 9-1-1. The show has maintained a strong hold on viewers, with the premiere episode nearing 10 million viewers after its seven-day window—though it narrowly missed crossing that milestone. Still, it’s notable that the third episode saw an increase in same-day viewers compared to the season premiere, demonstrating that the audience is sticking around and even growing as the season progresses.

9-1-1 isn’t the only Murphy production seeing big numbers. His other ABC series, Doctor Odyssey, premiered to nearly 14 million cross-platform viewers within its first week, making it the network’s most-watched drama debut in five years. The success of both shows is a testament to Murphy’s ability to captivate audiences across different genres and networks.

As new episodes of both 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey continue to air on Thursday nights, it will be exciting to see how these viewership trends evolve. With such strong early numbers, 9-1-1 has positioned itself for another successful season, but the key to its longevity will be maintaining this momentum in the competitive television landscape.
