‘9-1-1’ Icon Reveals Her Dream Crossover With Another Hit ABC Procedural

Jennifer Love Hewitt has crossovers on the brain. Just days after the iconic actress revealed that she had high hopes for her hit procedural, 9-1-1, to pay homage to her iconic horror franchise, I Know What You Did Last Summer, the performer is manifesting a crossover with a fellow ABC series. While chatting with Awards Buzz, the legendary star revealed that she’s gotten hooked (pun intended) on the Kaitlin Olson-led title, High Potential, and that she sees plenty of possibility for a crossover.

“I am obsessed with the show High Potential. . . . They’re in L.A., and she’s always referencing Dispatch. And I’m like, ‘She has got to come to the Dispatch Center, or I have to go to hers.’ Or I feel like we could do both, like one of their episodes could end with her coming to my Dispatch Center, and then I could enter her next episode. But I just need to work with that show. I just wanna be on that show. I think it could be so fun.”

Both hit ABC titles are set in the sunny city of Los Angeles, California, so, in theory, a crossover could absolutely work. We can totally see an arson investigation stumping the team over at 9-1-1 and the folks of High Potential helping them solve it with the impressive talents of Olson’s Morgan Gillory. Or, maybe their paths could cross while Morgan and her crew are hot on the trail of the mysterious man known as the game master, whose storyline will pick up in the upcoming second season. Plus, Olson has plenty of know-how when it comes to crafting an ultra-successful crossover thanks to the double episodes that her other hit series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, shared with Abbott Elementary this year.

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s ‘9-1-1’ Slasher Dreams

In addition to her comments about a crossover with High Potential, Hewitt also recently gave the universe another hopeful crossover of sorts when she revealed she’s pushing for a nod to her iconic slasher franchiseI Know What You Did Last Summer. Following the latest movie’s theatrical release, the star swung by the set of I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario to talk about the new installment, where she first came up with the idea, sharing:

“What if I get a call at the 911 call center from a girl being chased by a fisherman? [Winks] Wouldn’t it be fun? It would be playful and it would be fun — like in a Halloween episode. I’m putting it out there! I think that would be really good, like, ‘911, what’s your emergency?’ ‘I’m being chased by a guy with a hook!’ ‘Really? We’ve all seen that movie.’ Wouldn’t that be brilliant?”
